Changes
1.2.0 — 2026-08-03
Added
- Added automatic in-game color picking.
- Target a pixel on the overlay and use the Pick Targeted Color keybind to select its corresponding Minecraft item.
- Item IDs are read from the palette entry's
.oxsmisc1field. - Artmatica will automatically navigate through multiple ArtMap color pages to find the picked color.
- After searching, Artmatica returns the ArtMap color inventory to page 1.
- Selection stops safely if the server inventory does not update within 100 ticks.
- Added support for the
.oxsprintcolorfield.- In single-color mode, non-target pixels now use the selected palette color's
printcolor. - Patterns without
printcolorretain the previous opposite-color fallback.
- In single-color mode, non-target pixels now use the selected palette color's
- Hovered overlay pixels now display both the palette ID and color name as
[id] [ColorName]. - Added a scrollable Pattern Errors screen that shows rejected
.oxsfilenames and their validation errors. - Overlay opacity is now saved between sessions.
Fixed
- The color-selection screen now lists only colors present in the currently selected 32×32 tile instead of every color in the complete pattern.
- Changing tiles now clears the previous color selection, preventing the same list index from selecting an unrelated color on another tile.
- Palette entries with identical RGB values now retain their separate IDs, names, item mappings, and
printcolorvalues. - A malformed
.oxsfile no longer prevents other valid patterns from loading.
Improved
- Pattern files are now loaded in predictable alphabetical order.
- Pattern refreshes report how many files loaded successfully and how many were rejected.
.oxsvalidation now provides clear errors for invalid dimensions, colors, item IDs, palette references, and stitch coordinates.- Unsafe XML features, including external entities and DTDs, are disabled.
- Wall-sign discovery no longer scans the full nearby area every rendered frame.
- Artmatica caches and validates the active canvas.
- Full searches now occur only when necessary.
- The overlay remains anchored to the same valid canvas instead of jumping between nearby signs.
- ArtMap page navigation now waits for an actual inventory-content update instead of relying on a fixed delay.
- Disconnecting safely cancels an active automatic color-selection operation.
- Configuration screens and player-facing messages are now localization-ready.
Compatibility Notes
- Pattern dimensions must be positive multiples of 32.
- Older
.oxspatterns withoutprintcolorormisc1remain supported, but the corresponding newer features use fallback behavior or are unavailable. - Minecraft 1.21.8, Fabric Loader 0.19.1 or newer, Fabric API, and Java 21 are required.
- Artmatica remains client-side only.
- Sodium remains unsupported.
Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
