Asymetric Co-op is a Minecraft Fabric multiplayer mod designed to fundamentally change how players interact and survive together. By dividing core Minecraft mechanics among four distinct classes, the mod forces players to cooperate, trade, and protect each other. No single player can survive alone; true progression is only possible through teamwork.

🌟 Core Mechanics:

Class Interdependency: Essential survival mechanics (mining ores, farming, crafting, and combat) are strictly locked behind specific classes.

Basic Survival: Everyone can break basic building blocks (wood, dirt, stone, deepslate, obsidian) to build shelters, but specialized blocks and tools are restricted.

Dynamic Guide Books: Upon selecting a class, players automatically receive a specialized Guide Book explaining their role, abilities, and strict penalties.

Team System: Players are automatically assigned to colored teams based on their chosen class, making it easy to identify roles.

🎭 The Classes:

⛏️ The Miner

The backbone of resource gathering, the Miner is the only one who can delve deep and extract precious ores. However, they are completely defenseless against the horrors of the dark.

[ABILITY] Permanent Haste I: Mines blocks significantly faster than other classes.

[ABILITY] Exclusive Ore Mining: The only class capable of breaking ore blocks (Coal, Iron, Diamonds, Gold, Lapis, Redstone, Emeralds, Copper).

[ABILITY] End Portal Attunement: The only class that can place Eyes of Ender into End Portal Frames.

[PENALTY] Pacifist: Cannot deal physical damage to monsters (deals 0 damage, only applies knockback).

[PENALTY] Herbivore: Cannot digest meat. Eating any meat-based food causes severe food poisoning (Hunger, Nausea, Poison).

🌾 The Farmer

The provider of food, potions, and ranged support. The Farmer stays nimble and controls the battlefield from afar.

[ABILITY] Permanent Speed I: Moves faster than other classes.

[ABILITY] Featherweight: Completely immune to fall damage.

[ABILITY] Exclusive Farming: The only class capable of using Hoes and planting crops/seeds.

[ABILITY] Exclusive Ranged Combat: The only class that can shoot Bows and Crossbows.

[ABILITY] Exclusive Alchemy: The only class that can operate Brewing Stands.

[PENALTY] Armor Allergy: Wearing any armor heavier than Leather (Chainmail, Iron, Gold, Diamond, Netherite) inflicts extreme Slowness.

⚔️ The Warrior

The shield of the group. The Warrior exists to slay monsters and protect the defenseless Miner in the dark caverns.

[ABILITY] Permanent Strength I: Deals significantly more melee damage.

[ABILITY] Permanent Health Boost: Spawns with +4 extra hearts (28 HP total).

[PENALTY] Heavy Hands: Strictly forbidden from using any ranged weapons (Bows/Crossbows).

[PENALTY] Carnivore: Cannot digest plant-based foods. Eating crops (bread, carrots, apples, potatoes) makes them sick.

⚒️ The Blacksmith

The master of the forge. The Blacksmith is the technological engine of the team, responsible for all advanced gear and progression.

[ABILITY] Exclusive Crafting: The only class capable of opening and using Crafting Tables and Anvils.

[ABILITY] Exclusive Fire Manipulation: The only class capable of using Flint & Steel and Fire Charges, making them the only ones who can ignite Nether Portals.

[PENALTY] Claustrophobia: Severely afraid of the deep underground. Going below Y=40 in the Overworld induces a panic attack, inflicting Permanent Blindness, Darkness, and Slowness until they return to the surface.

Class Guide Books

Each player receives a beautifully animated, lore-friendly guidebook upon selecting their class. These books outline your exact abilities and limitations. (If you happen to lose it, server admins can grant them via the Creative Menu or commands).

📥 Installation & Setup

Download and install Fabric Loader for Minecraft 1.21.1. Download the Fabric API and drop it into your mods folder. Drop the Asymetric Co-op .jar file into your mods folder. Launch the game! (This mod is required on both the Client and the Server).

❓ FAQ

Can this be played in Singleplayer? Technically yes, but you won't be able to beat the game! If you pick the Warrior, you can't craft. If you pick the Blacksmith, you can't mine ores. This mod is strictly designed for multiplayer servers with at least 3-4 players.

Is there a Forge/NeoForge version? Currently, this mod is exclusively developed for Fabric 1.21.1.
