Aylyth 2.0.0: The Survival Update

For Fabric and Quilt 1.9.2

The biggest update to Aylyth yet! This update adds plenty of things relating to both making the realm survivable as well as plenty of ways to entice those to wander its orange-leaf halls.

ADDED

(+) Scions: Scions are zombie-like entities found wandering around in most biomes. They're not too much of a threat, but you may find yourself among them if you perish from the Branches. With these the Ympe Cycle is complete.

(+) Faunaylythian: Result of a quadruped animal such as a dog or sheep that perished from the Branches. They're not nearly as durable as their humanoid counterparts, but they are a lot faster and still have animal agility.

(+) Wreathed Hind: Odd, deer-like entities found in the woods, identifiable by their lack of a head, glowing eyes, smoke billowing from their necks, multiple legs, and resonating calls. One of the few not inherently hostile beings in the Woods, but still not one to piss off. Instead, you should give them Nysian Grapes.

(+) Bonefly: Graciously generated from Arathain and Mason's Décor. Boneflies are the first of a new class of mob called "constructs", created beings that are friendly to the player. Boneflies are mounts, and can both walk on the ground and fly. Aylythian Boneflies are a bit more active and disconcerting than ones created by the Mason, however. Do note their flying sound is currently a bit harsh.

(+) Ympemould: Another of the Mason's creations, lost and reborn in the Woods, and another Construct. A big tanky guardian, or a living weapon to hack down enemies. They're prolly not the best to take with you out however.

(+) Tulpa: The 3rd animated Construct, derived from the Mason's magic by the Woods but not of the Mason's make. Tulpas are roughly equivalent to tamed wolves, but are significantly more intelligent, can be equpt with weapons, armour, and have their own inventory and a unique attack on top of that. However, its said Tulpas can be given the image of a person and imitate them uncannily well...

(+) Bowels Biome: Generic underground biome. Has soulsoil and such, not too much here yet.

(+) Mire Biome: A flooded swamplike biome that introduces a unique species of tree. Fairly safe, maybe.

(+) Uplands Biome: A barren mountanious biome with autumnal terracotta. Fairly safe also.

Note: biomes will be expanded on later!

(+) Soul Hearth: A Respawn Anchor-like object used to set spawn in the dimension. Uses Pomegranates (see below) as fuel.

(+) Vital Thurible: An object from a different world that can process the life that remains in Wrongmeat (see below) into new semi-permanent health for the player. Beware as easily as it can be gained, it can be taken away also, especially from those not of flesh, or from the bite of a specific knife.

(+) Woody Growth Cache: A shimmering woody projection that comes from players who perish to the Branches. This holds your inventory that was not taken by your Scion.

(+) Dark Woods Tiles: re'yehT ylddO railimaF, t'noD uoY knihT?

(+) Writhewood Suite: Set of blocks relating to the new tree found in Mires. Bone white wood.

(+) Pomegranate Suite: Set of blocks and a fruit relating to another new tree type, Pomegranates. Purple-red wood. The fruit is harvested by r-clicking on leaves that bear mature fruit, and it will grow them back later. This fruit can be eaten, and is one of the richest foods native to the realm, but can cause some unusual effects on the living. The fruit is also used as fuel in Soul Hearths.

(+) Jack o' Lantern Mushrooms: Orange glowing mushrooms found on Aylythian Oak trees. The main source of light in the realm, as 4 can be crafted into a Shroomlight.

(+) Woody Growths: Twisted wood that peppers certain biomes, as well as results from slain Aylythians and similar.

(+) Ghostcap Mushrooms and Spores: Edible mushrooms. They're far from nutritious, but sit on the stomach for a long time. They have some side effects when eaten however.

(+) Strewn Leaves: Come in both Oak and Ympe flavours. Decorative, and can collect into layers like snow.

(+) Wrongmeat: Meat gathered from the formerly living in this realm. A special tool is needed

(+) Coric Seed: oslA ylddO railimaF. A small golden seed that is used to manufacture constructs and some stronger weapons. It is created in a secret way

(+) Girasol Seed: Used to grow the strange Seeping Trees, dead trees writhe with seeps. Basically let the player well, have their own Seeps at hand. Note: the resulting tree is very big!

(+) Ympe Effigy: Another gift from the Mason. Works exactly like the original Soultrap Effigy. Are you willing to sacrifice your humanity for its offerings? Do note that what it bestows are both good and bad, but they can be easily reverted by removed the item from your inventory.

(+) Ympe Glaive: The last gift from the Mason. The blade of this weapon is sharp enough to server a victim's Silver Thread, liberating their souls from the body.

(+) Ympe Lance: A 2-prong spear that grows thorny vines in the joints of the victim. It also always returns to its owner.

(+) Ympe Cuirass: A bauble worn on the neck that grows protective wood over you (Witchery reference)

(+) Advancements: To help with some of confusing, but less so, elements of the mod

CHANGES

(~) Dying in Aylyth makes you respawn there, rather than in the Nether (~) Dying due to Branches specifically now causes you to spawn in a Scion that uses your texture, will have whatever items you were holding last, as well as your armour. It will need to be slain to get them back. Other items will be placed in a Woody Growth Cache. (~) Elder Aylythians can now do a ranged attack :) (~) Seeps will generate with Marigolds near them (~) Using an Aylythian Heart to go to the realm will place some Marigolds where you left the world of the living at. (~) Worldgen for all biomes has been redone (~) You will now get stacking debuffs based on the amount of Ympifiction you have (~) Yellow Pilot Lights are now functional

COMING SOON (!) In-game documentation of sorts on how to create constructs and Coric Seeds (!) New sounds for the constructs (!) A replacement for the Netherite in many higher-end recipes (!) ???
