How to Play:

1. Download latest available version
2. Run minecraft
3. Creative: Find the eggs tab and spawn birds.
4. Survival: Progress with new tech powered by crows!

Client: This mod supports client (obviously) and so far their are no bugs!

Lan: This mod supports lan worlds however it has not been tested for bugs.

Pro Server: This mod works on professional servers and is fully functional.

Modpacks: Feel free to use this mod in your modpacks!

Open Source: This project actually is not open source but the github is only used for issue reports and the wiki.

Dependencies / Incompatabilities: As far as I know their are not any incompatible mods. Backyard Birds does not require any other mods to run.

Developers / API: For devs their is a DEV branch on the github that has some of the model files. You can learn more about obtaining the bird models below.

Description: Backyard birds allows you to enlarge your birding knowledge by adding a ton of cool interactive features and fun blocks. You can even build a PC by using a crows energy, you can observe birds from far away with binoculars. Items like the small bird attractor will let you see birds upclose. Their is a wide variety of birds, tiny birds, massive birds, and even more shapes and sizes. All of the birds have different behaviours like a chickadee might be really used to players and a finch may not be as used to players. Their are ambient bird sounds however they can be disabled using the command /byb sound on/off (the deafault is off).

Will I port BYB: I may however it could break some of the texture files for versions above 1.20.1, however I may port it from 1.20.1 to 1.19.2 or something.

Best File: Latest version of Forge 1.20.1 because it will be the most maintained out of any versions.

Updates: I plan to update BYB frequently because it is my main mod now.

Future Updates: Will probally just contain more birds and blocks.

More about models: All of the models that we use are converted / adapted versions of the vanilla parrot however each model is different. In the Github you can find the base models and animations, however the .json files provided can not be imported to blockbench.

With shaders: This mod completely supports all shaders unless they mess with entity rendering.

Contributing: If you have a parrot reskin on PMC you can send it in my Guestbook and I MIGHT add your bird into the game if it meets all of the posted guidlines.

Creative bird core: The creative bird core is a debugging block in creative mode that helps with performance, some of theese bird cores are different and may spawn debug birds.
