Better Lava Lakes
Better Lava Lakes redesigns vanilla Overworld lava lakes to make them look like molten lava rising from deep underground.

Instead of being surrounded by ordinary terrain, newly generated lava lakes receive a natural volcanic transition. Magma and tuff form the inner shoreline, followed by a tuff layer and an irregular stone border. Small stone blocks are also scattered around the surrounding terrain to make every lake feel more naturally integrated into the world.
Features
- Redesigned vanilla Overworld lava lakes.
- An irregular inner shoreline made from magma and tuff.
- A complete tuff layer surrounding the inner shoreline.
- A broken and natural-looking outer stone transition.
- Small stone blocks scattered around the lake.
- Correct generation on flat terrain, hills, cliffs, forests, and rocky biomes.
- Full support for lava lakes crossing chunk borders.
- Deterministic generation based on the world seed.
- No new blocks, items, entities, or gameplay mechanics.
Important
Better Lava Lakes only affects lava lakes generated in new chunks. Existing lava lakes in already generated terrain will not be changed.
Create a new world or explore previously unloaded chunks to see the new generation.
The mod does not modify:
- Player-placed lava.
- Nether lava.
- Underground lava aquifers.
- Existing generated chunks.
World-generation mods that modify the same vanilla lava lake feature may be incompatible.
