This mod adds more than 60 new creepers to the game: elemental creepers, sea creepers, Nether and End creepers, ore creepers and many strange ones, each with its own look, its own places to live and its own explosion. Some heal you, some make you dance, some hide in the sand or pretend to be a cow.
Around them there is a whole set of new items to find, study, catch and collect creepers: the Creepapedia, Creeper Essence, baits, a compass, a defusal kit, glass jars, heads, a talisman and more. No dependencies. Available for Forge, NeoForge and Fabric.
The creepers
Every creeper lives in its own biomes and moments: the Electric Creeper comes with thunderstorms, the Fire Creeper with the noon sun in the desert, the Big Bad Creep under the full moon, the Sculk Creeper in the Deep Dark, the Shulker Creeper in End cities. Some of them even spawn by day. Vanilla creepers stay as they are.
Charged creepers don't just get a bigger blast: their effects become stronger too (Spider poison lasts twice as long, the Ice Creeper freezes, the Dark Creeper brings the Warden's Darkness...). The Radioactive Creeper leaves an area that charges any mod creeper walking into it, and the Electric Creeper's lightning charges other creepers on purpose.
Show all the creepers (spoilers!)
- Gentleman Creeper: politely asks for permission before exploding. Say no and it leaves with a bow.
- Cake Creeper: instead of a crater it leaves a birthday cake, and a whole party with candles when charged.
- Camouflage Creeper: takes the texture of the block it stands on and almost vanishes when still.
- Mimic Creeper: disguises itself as the nearest animal, with a creeper face painted on.
- Electric Creeper: arrives with thunderstorms and strikes other creepers with lightning to charge them.
- Angel Creeper: its blast heals everyone around. Kill it and it takes revenge.
- Musical Creeper: made of note blocks, its blast makes everyone dance.
- Illusion Creeper: splits into copies the moment it sees you, and only one of them is real.
- Balloon Creeper: floats on a balloon and drops on you with its fuse lit.
- Night Creeper: like a phantom, it hunts players who haven't slept.
- Sand Creeper: buried in the sand, it jumps out when you walk by.
- Big Bad Creep: a giant creeper that, when it blows, releases more creepers. More often under a full moon.
- Sculk Creeper: blind like the Warden, it follows the vibrations you make.
- Paper Creeper: lives in libraries and villages; its confetti blast breaks nothing.
- Athlete Creeper: sprints at you, then stops to catch its breath.
- Alchemist Creeper: leaves a cloud with a random potion effect.
- Sea creepers: Jellyfish, Puffer, Abyss and Coral Creepers, that swim and breathe underwater.
- Ore Creepers: Coal, Copper, Iron, Lapis, Gold, Redstone, Emerald, Diamond, Amethyst, Quartz, Nether Gold and Ancient Debris, made from the game's own ore textures and found at the depth of their ore.
- Friendly Creeper: can be tamed with gunpowder and follows you like a dog (see below).
And many more: Fire, Water, Ice, Earth, Wind, Light, Dark, Stone, Magma, Psychic, Spider, Ender, Hydrogen, Solar, Cookie, Firework, Spring, Furnace, Warp, Reverse, Ghost, Mini, Eco, Nether Eco, Mushroom, Smoke, Radioactive, Soul, Tuff, Pirate, Experience and Shulker Creepers, and the Creeperfish hiding in the stone.
Creepapedia
A book that records every creeper you defeat, with its picture, a description and where it lives. The ones you haven't found yet are shown as "???". A very rare, already complete copy can be found in dungeon and mineshaft chests.
- Creeper Essence drops from creepers killed by a player (more often from rare ones).
- Next to every "???" there is a [?] button: spend some essence to buy a hint on where and when that creeper lives. Every hint costs a little more than the last.
- The Creepapedia also keeps a page for the Ore Creepers and one for the holiday costumes you found.
Items (All are craftable, except for the heads)
CREEPER BAIT — Made with Creeper Essence and gunpowder. Put it on the ground and it lures creepers to you, one at a time, picking first the ones your Creepapedia is still missing. More essence makes a stronger bait that lures more creepers. Clerics and wandering traders sell it too.
CREEPER TORCH — A soul torch with green sparks: no creeper spawns naturally around it (vanilla ones included).
CREEPER COMPASS — Its green needle points to the nearest creeper and the hotbar tells you which one it is and how far. It can show all creepers or only the ones you haven't found yet. Cartographers sell it.
DEFUSAL KIT — Right click a creeper with a lit fuse to defuse it before it blows. It's easy at first and a gamble near the end. Shift + right click pulls its detonator and leaves it stunned.
CREEPER JAR — Catch a stunned creeper in a glass jar and let it out wherever you want (a Water Creeper on lava, anyone?). Place jars on the ground to build a collection: you see the real creeper inside, turning around. Seal them with honeycomb and tap the glass: the creeper inside says one of over 100 silly lines... and every now and then pretends to explode. Name tags work on creepers inside jars too.
CREEPER HEADS — A head for every creeper of the mod. Like vanilla mob heads, they drop when a charged creeper's explosion kills one of our creepers. Place them, put them on a note block, or wear them: that kind of creeper will notice you only from half the distance.
CREEPER TALISMAN — Made with a creeper head, gold and essence. Keep it in your inventory and it shields you from the creepers' special effects: no dancing, levitation, poison, blindness, teleports... It doesn't stop explosions, and every effect it blocks wears it out a little. Repair it with Creeper Essence.
Holiday costumes
On holidays creepers (vanilla ones included) spawn dressed up, and sometimes drop their costume. Wear it, or put it on any creeper with a right click.
See all the holidays
- Christmas: Santa Hat, Reindeer Antlers, Elf Hat
- Halloween: Pumpkin, Devil Costume, Witch Hat, Vampire Cape
- Easter: Bunny Ears, Eggshell
- Valentine's Day: Cupid Costume
- New Year: Party Hat with party blower
- St. Patrick's Day: Leprechaun Hat with beard
- Carnival: Jester Hat, Carnival Mask
- Oktoberfest: Tyrolean Hat and lederhosen
- Holi: colored powder and marigold garland
- Day of the Dead: Catrina Mask with flower crown
- Plus the Gentleman's Top Hat, the Pirate's Bandana and the Athlete's Headband, dropped by their owners all year long.
Friendly Creeper
Tame it with gunpowder and it becomes your companion. It follows you, fights for you and never hurts you or your pets. The heart on its chest shows its health, and gunpowder heals it.
- Dye it with any of the 16 dyes. A water bucket washes the color off.
- Give it an Aura Crystal and, while you stay close, it gives you a level I effect that depends on its color: red Strength, light blue Speed, black Night Vision, pink Regeneration and so on.
- Name it jeb_... you know what happens.
Advancements
A new tab with 47 advancements: fill the Creepapedia, try every new item, meet the strangest creepers and collect all the heads and costumes. Many of them are little nods to films, games and anime, and some are hidden: try to find them.
Configuration
Almost everything can be configured in morecreepers-common.toml.
See what you can change
- Spawns: how often every single creeper spawns, and whether they follow their moments (thunderstorms, full moon, noon...) or just spawn in the dark like any monster.
- Explosions: the size of every creeper's blast and of its special effect, plus a "dome" style for the creepers that fill the area with blocks.
- Creeper Essence and hints: drop chances and hint prices.
- Items: bait duration and range, torch radius, compass range, defusal kit uses and chances, jar settings, talisman durability and which effects it blocks.
- Friendly Creeper: aura radius and the effect of every color, even effects from other mods.
- Extras: holiday costumes on or off (and a test mode to force a holiday), Creeperfish eggs in the world, the original Creepapedia in chests.
