TimeAnnounce (Fabric)
TimeAnnounce is a lightweight utility mod designed to bridge the gap between real-world time and your in-game immersion. Perfect for multiplayer servers or players who easily lose track of time during long gaming sessions, this mod seamlessly formats and announces real-world times directly to players.
Using a hybrid architecture, the mod handles timezone configurations and scheduling on the server side, while utilizing the client side to trigger local accessibility features.
💡 Features
- Real-World Timekeeping: Never miss an appointment or stay up too late mining again. Get periodic updates of the actual time according to your preferred timezone.
- British Rail Formatting: Includes a dedicated text formatter (
BritishRailFormatter) to display or announce times in a clean, traditional, and easily readable format. - Narrator Integration: Fully compatible with Minecraft’s built-in Text-to-Speech (TTS) narrator. The mod sends custom packets to individual clients, allowing the game to literally speak the time to you without cluttering your chat log.
- Per-Player Customization: * Save your personal timezone so announcements match your local clock.
- Easily toggle the audio narrator announcements on or off using intuitive in-game commands.
🛠️ Installation & Architecture
To experience the full functionality of TimeAnnounce, the mod should be installed on both the Server and the Client.
- Server-Side: Manages player timezone storage, processes configuration commands, and dispatches sync packets when it's time for an announcement.
- Client-Side: Listens for announcement packets, processes local player toggle configurations, and hooks into the Minecraft audio narrator to speak the time.
