This continued support helps keep me going in developing this mod. If you have ideas to be added or room ideas, I will happily take them in my Discord.** > ### **I am aware there are bugs, I just want to get this out there** > **Credits** - Discord Name: Miffenkop | For the Eternal Totem Texture, per request on the Fabric Discord - Discord Name: Dimbywimby | For the Spell book item texture > ## Why I Made This Mod > I created **BTC: Better Trial Chambers** because I’ve always loved the idea of ancient, hidden places in Minecraft that aren’t just about loot, but about mystery, challenge, and discovery. > > When Mojang introduced trial chambers, I saw the potential for something much bigger: > > - Dungeon layouts that feel alive and dangerous > - Puzzles that genuinely challenge your brain and reflexes > - Custom mobs with their own lore, weaknesses, and abilities > - And a sense of deep, scattered history you have to piece together yourself > > I’ve always admired games that make you feel like you’re uncovering forgotten things in dangerous places like *Minecraft Dungeons*. BTC is my attempt to bring that feeling to Minecraft’s survival world. > > It’s also a way for me to combine what I enjoy: > > - Redstone puzzle mechanics > - Custom mobs > - Lore-rich storytelling through environment and items > > At the end of the day, this mod exists because I wanted something in Minecraft that didn’t just hand out loot for something relatively easy; I wanted something that fought back, taught you its rules, added more lore to the existing parts of the game, and left you wondering what else might be lurking deeper underground. ## BTC: Better Trial Chambers **BTC: Better Trial Chambers** is an ambitious Minecraft mod that expands on the idea of Mojang’s trial chambers, transforming them into sprawling, procedurally generated dungeon complexes filled with dynamic puzzles, custom mobs, ancient relics, and hidden lore. ### Overview A **lore-driven, puzzle-heavy adventure mod** featuring **eldritch magic**, **ancient technology**, and **forgotten ruins beneath the surface of the Overworld**. ## Features

Modular Dungeon Networks

Trial chambers now generate as expansive, interconnected structures with multiple puzzle rooms, secret passageways, and unique traps. Each chamber features randomized layouts, lock mechanisms, and environmental hazards that test both your combat skills and puzzle-solving ability.

Copper Golems & Tuff Golems (Custom Mobs)

- **Copper Golems**: Rusty, animated relics capable of pressing buttons, activating ancient machinery, and oxidizing over time unless waxed. - **Tuff Golems**: Decorative and functional dungeon guardians, with unique animations, sleep states, home-point binding, and item-carrying abilities.

Custom Entities: The Eldritch Luminaries

Ancient, enigmatic sorcerers clad in shimmering purple-blue cloaks. These miniboss mobs wield strange arcane powers, manipulating reality within their chambers. They guard rare artifacts and relics tied to the mod’s deeper lore. Three different versions, a pyromancer, a storm, and shadow summoner. All with different colors robes to differentiate between them.

The Codex of the Void (Still in Development)

An ultimate spell book, crafted by collecting **five elemental staffs** (Earth, Water, Fire, Wind, and Ender) and a base spellbook. Once assembled, it grants the wielder control over devastating spells and defensive wards.

Wire and Door Systems (Still needs mental help - oh wait, that's me)

Inspired by classic dungeon puzzle mechanics (*Minecraft Dungeons*), the mod adds **custom wire blocks**, **redstone-compatible systems**, and **ancient doors** that can only be opened through solving in-game puzzles or defeating chamber guardians.

Unique Items & Tools

**Wrench items** allow players to rotate blocks, reconfigure puzzle components, and manipulate dungeon elements dynamically, making every chamber’s layout and challenge customizable.

Environmental Lore and Artifacts

Hidden books, ancient devices, murals, and scattered relics throughout chambers reveal the long-forgotten history of the **Eldritch Luminaries**, their downfall, and their attempts to harness the power of the Void.

Custom Status Effects

BTC adds a collection of unique, lore-flavored status effects to spice up dungeon crawling and survival gameplay: - **BUILDER_BLUNDER** - Causes blocks you place to just not place. - **MINER_MISHAP** - Completely prevents mining like mining fatigue, but you can still attack. - **DRAGON_SCALES** - Grants bonus resistance mimicking the fabled hide of ancient dragons, and reflects part of that damage to attackers. - **DROWNING** - Makes your screen turn blue and you start taking drowning damage faster; Respiration still helps. - **NO_NATURAL_REGENERATION** - Completely disables passive health regeneration, forcing you to rely on potions, enchanted items, or chamber-specific blessings. - **FROST_WALKER** - Similar to the enchantment, but with sprinting enabled. The level of the effect controls the ice radius (up to a limit)!

## Why BTC Stands Out BTC isn’t just a content mod, it’s a **lore-driven expansion** to Minecraft’s adventure experience. It challenges players with: - Spatial puzzles - Ancient magic systems - Interconnected dungeon mechanics - Morally gray, scattered lore Encouraging **exploration**, **experimentation**, and **mastery of forgotten relics** in a way vanilla Minecraft only hints at. ## Planned Features (Might Happen)

Concept Ideas (In Development)

> - Redesign of the chambers and rework the flow, NOW IN BUILDING! (lol)
