Buildprint
Load a schematic, see it in your world, and build it.
Buildprint shows any schematic as a ghost in your world, with real block models. It tracks what you've placed, what's missing and what's wrong. Easy place makes placing the right block easy, and the printer places blocks for you.

See what's left to do
Missing blocks, wrong blocks, blocks turned the wrong way and blocks that shouldn't be there each get their own color. The material list shows what you still need and updates as you build.

Place blocks with easy place
Turn on easy place and right-click the ghost: the right block goes down, facing the right way. Blocks swap into your hand from your inventory. Hold right-click to sweep across a row.

Or let the printer do it
The printer places the missing blocks around you while you move. It uses the blocks in your inventory and stays within your normal reach. It builds layer by layer from the bottom, the structure before the decoration, and only builds against a block once the server has confirmed it.

On servers: easy place and angel placement make placing much easier than by hand, and the printer places blocks for you. Many servers count that as cheating. Check the rules before you use them. All three are off by default.
Build one layer at a time
The layer view shows one layer, or a few, of a build. Easy place and the printer then only work in those layers.

Paste in creative
In creative mode you can paste a build into the world in one go, and undo it. Only the layers in view are pasted, and you choose whether air is placed and whether blocks already there are replaced. In single-player it goes straight into the world. On a server it uses Buildprint Policy if the server has it, otherwise Axiom, operator commands or WorldEdit, whichever you're allowed to use. Fill containers puts the schematic's items into chests and hoppers that already stand in the world.

Swap materials
Build it out of something else. Pick a block in the material list and choose a replacement. The ghost, the material list and easy place all follow. Your file isn't changed.

See what goes inside containers
Chests, barrels, hoppers, droppers, crafters and other containers show the items the schematic has in them. Look at one to see its slots with the counts and the comparator signal they give. Open it and the wanted items sit in the slots as ghosts, and Fill moves them over from your inventory. A container with the wrong contents is marked yellow, like a block in the wrong state.

In single-player, containers near you are checked without opening them. On a server the game only tells your client what is in a container while it is open, so one you haven't opened yet shows as "not checked".
Save your own builds
Press B for the editor. The camera flies free while your player stays put, which helps in
survival. Select an area, resize and rotate it with handles, and save it as a .litematic. In
single-player the file includes what is inside the containers. Mobs are left out.

Your schematics and the marketplace
Press M for the menu. The Local tab shows your schematics/ folder with search, recent
files, favorites and a 3D preview. Loaded lists what's in your world, to move, turn or hide.
The Marketplace tab browses builds from VoxelSprout
and places them in one click. No account needed.

You can also drop a file onto the game window. Builds are remembered per world and per server.

Build it together
Start a sync session and share the code or link. Everyone who joins sees the same builds in the same place and the progress as others build. People without the file get it from the session. Nothing needs to be installed on the server.
Compared to Litematica
In these tests Buildprint ran at two to four times Litematica's frame rate, and loaded big builds without freezing the game: 3 big builds showed up after 2.4 seconds, against 43 seconds in Litematica.

Compared with Litematica 0.29.1 on Minecraft 26.3, September 2026.
Frame rate in four tests
The frame rate Minecraft's F3 screen showed, with the same builds from the same spot. Higher is better.
| Test | Buildprint | Litematica |
|---|---|---|
| Venice district, 568k blocks | 258 fps | 121 fps |
| 3 big builds in a row, 1M blocks | 272 fps | 90 fps |
| 24 builds side by side, 640k blocks | 229 fps | 95 fps |
| 10 big builds in one spot, 3.6M blocks | 199 fps | 47 fps |
How this was tested
- MacBook Pro, Apple M4 Max, 36 GB, macOS. Minecraft 26.3 with Fabric, no other performance mods. Buildprint 0.1.11, Litematica 0.29.1 with MaLiLib 0.30.2.
- One game with both mods installed. Each test loaded the same builds into Buildprint, then into Litematica, in the same world and from the same spot. Only one mod had builds loaded at a time. The order was Buildprint, Litematica, Litematica, Buildprint, so heat affects both the same.
- 1920 × 1080, render distance 24, VSync and the frame rate cap off, a flat world. Both mods on default settings, except Buildprint's lag guard, which was off: it lowers detail when the frame rate drops.
- Real player builds, loaded one at a time. Each test waited until the mod had finished building its meshes, recorded 10 seconds, then took the screenshot with the F3 screen on.
One machine, one run. Your numbers will be different.

Works with Sorted
With Sorted installed, the material list shows how many of each block are in your chests, and can light those chests up through walls. Where Buildprint labels a container, Sorted's own label on it steps aside. Optional.
The same goes for Peek: its label on a placed shulker box steps aside while Buildprint shows its own there.
Known issues
Not every shader pack shows the ghost. Complementary and vanilla-style packs work. Photon doesn't show it yet.
FAQ
Can I use it on any server?
Buildprint only runs on your client, so it works on any server you can join. Whether you're allowed to use easy place, angel placement or the printer there is up to the server, so check the rules. Servers can turn features off with Buildprint Policy; you're told what's off when you join.
Can I keep using my Litematica files?
Yes. Buildprint saves .litematic files and opens them directly. On first launch it offers to bring
over your Litematica placements. Your files aren't changed.
My build doesn't show up in another world on the same server.
On servers with several worlds behind one address, a build only shows in the world you placed it in. In other worlds it's hidden, not removed. This works in the overworld and the nether. You can turn it off in the settings under "World fingerprinting".
Why does a chest say its contents are "not checked"?
On a server your client only learns what is in a container while it is open. Open it once and Buildprint compares it and remembers the result. In single-player this isn't needed: containers near you are checked on their own.
Can I paste a build in creative?
Yes. Click Paste on a loaded build in the Loaded tab, and Undo takes it back. Only the layers in view are pasted. On a server without Buildprint Policy it uses Axiom, operator commands or WorldEdit; without operator status commands go through at about one a second, so that is slow.
Do I need an account?
No. You only sign in to vote on or publish builds on the marketplace.
