Buildprint - Schematics & Printer (Litematica Alternative)
Load any schematic as a ghost in your world, see what's missing, and build it with easy place or the printer. Opens .litematic, .schem, .schematic, .nbt and Axiom .bp. A client-side alternative to Litematica.

Added
- Container contents. Look at a chest, barrel, shulker box, hopper, dropper, dispenser, crafter, furnace or brewing stand and the look-at panel shows what the schematic wants in it, with the comparator signal. Open it and the wanted items sit in the slots as ghosts, with "+5" / "-3" for stacks that are short or too big and a red frame for a wrong item; a Fill button moves the items over from your inventory, and a panel next to it shows what is still missing.
- A container with the wrong contents is marked yellow in the world, gets a "Wanted" label with a few of the items (can be turned off), and counts as not finished. Hold I to see the contents of one that matches. In single-player, containers near you are checked without opening them; on a server a container shows as "not checked" until you open it.
- The material list has a "To fix" group for placed blocks that aren't right yet, and a section "Items for containers" with everything the build's containers hold, crafters included.
- Paste, in creative. Paste a build into the world in one go, from the Loaded tab. Choose whether the schematic's air clears the build's box and whether blocks already there are replaced. With the layer view on, only the layers in view are pasted.
- Undo takes back the last 10 pastes in the same world, from the same button (a revert icon next to
Paste once you've moved the build) or with
/buildprint undo. Container contents are put back too in single-player and with Buildprint Policy. - Fill containers puts the schematic's items into the containers already standing in the world.
- Method picks how to paste: single-player, the server (Buildprint Policy), Axiom,
/fillcommands or WorldEdit. Auto takes the fastest one available. Without operator status commands go through at about one a second, and if a server kicks you for spam, Buildprint sends slower on that server from then on. Servers can turn paste off or cap it with Buildprint Policy. - Saved schematics include what is inside containers and which crafter slots are locked. On a server only the containers you opened this session are included.
- Potted plants are built by the printer and easy place: the pot goes down, then the plant goes in.
Changed
- The printer builds layer by layer: the lowest layer in reach first, full blocks before the rest, decoration last. What is under your feet goes in first, so you can land on a sky base, and the blocks around you at your own height go in last.
- The printer no longer spends its per-tick tries on blocks it has nothing to place with (water, a bubble column, blocks you don't carry) until your inventory changes.
- Slot order counts when comparing containers (a hopper empties from the first slot). A setting compares totals only for chests, barrels and shulker boxes. Furnace output and unopened loot chests are not compared.
- Mobs, dropped items, experience orbs and arrows are no longer saved. Armor stands, item frames, paintings, minecarts and boats still are.
- Sorted and Peek: their container labels step aside while Buildprint shows its own. With a Sorted version that supports it, Buildprint uses what Sorted has seen in containers on a server.
Fixed
- Blocks in the wrong cell at higher printer speeds. The printer clicked against blocks the server hadn't confirmed yet, and the click landed in that block's cell instead. It waits for the server now. Tested on the Diamond House at 16 blocks a tick: all mistakes of that kind are gone.
- Survival: after a swap from the inventory the server could hold a different item than you saw, and placed that one.
- Beds are placed from the foot; the head's cell no longer gets a second bed.
- A second trapdoor placed on top when opening one, double slabs placed a block too high, and doors with the wrong hinge in an unfinished wall.
- Crafter item counts from schematics made before Minecraft 1.20.5 all came out as 1.
Optional dependencies
Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
