Charcoal Pit 3

This mod restructures the metallurgical progress of the game as well as the way charcoal is made. It also adds farming additions such as fruit trees, crops, foods, alcohol brewing. Those features were inspired by Terrafirmacraft. It also adds animal farming tools, a biodiesel production chain and a light aircraft.

This allows starting fires before Flint and Steel

Time to Mine

Firstly Wood and Stone tools are disabled, except for the Wood Shovel. Instead you will need to make Flint tools, which are equivalent to Stone except for having the mining tier of Wood. Flint can be found in river beds and caves. This allows you to mine Stone, Coal and most importantly, Copper. Copper tools have marginally better stats and allow you to mine tier 1 ores such as Iron and Lapis. Copper armor is also available, it is coparable to gold but with more durability

The Bloomery

Smelting Iron in a normal furnace is no longer possible. Instead you will need a Bloomery and Bellows, as well as a decent fuel like Coal. Pump the bellows to get keep the Bloomery hot enough and Iron will accumulate in a Bloom. You will then need to place the Bloom in the world and work it with a pickaxe to obtain Iron. Larger blooms need to be worked more.

Man of Steel

Working the Bloomery can be slow and Iron could have better stats. Steel is the next step. You need 2 things to make steel: metallurgic flux made by grinding calcareous rocks such as Dripstone, Calcite, Limestone or Marble; and a very hot burning fuel such as Coal Coke or Blaze Rods. A Tuyere can be used to upgrade a Blast Furnace to accept blast air from a Bellows, preferably Mechanical Bellows. The result will be Pig Iron, which can be turned into Steel or Iron by smelting it in either a Furnace or Blast Furnace. This will be the best way of smelting Iron until machines are unlocked.

Steel tools have +50% durability +0.5 attack +1 speed +1 toughness but -50% enchantability.

Storage and Alloys

By molding Clay into a vessel and smelting it, a Ceramic Vessel can be made which can store 9 stacks of items and behaves like a Shulker Box. In addition, ingots can be placed into the Clay Vessel to act as an alloying container. One alloy available this way is Orichalcum Bronze, made from Copper, Gold and Sea Crystals.

Compared to Iron, Orichalcum tools have +1 speed and +30% enchantability, as well as innate aqua affinity

Charcoal Pits and Coke Ovens

By placing either Log Piles or Coal Blocks in the world, completely covering them with valid blocks and lighting them on fire, Charcoal and Coal Coke can be made. Charcoal Pits will accept any solid non-flammable block like dirt but Coke Ovens need to be encased in Ceramic or End Bricks. Sandy Bricks are available as a more neutral color. A working Pit/Oven will emit smoke particles from the top. After 18 or 36 in-game hours it will finish and the results can be collected.

Creosote

Using a Creosote Funnel, Creosote Oil can be collected from Pits/Ovens. Its range is a 9x9 + shape. Powering it will make it drain from connected funnels and push into a container bellow. Creosote Oil hurts insects like Spiders but not other mobs.

Food

Various food stuffs are available, including 2 new crops: Leeks and Sunflowers.

Brewing

A Fluid Barrel can be made using 8 wood slabs. It can hold 16B of liquids that arent too hot and using it on an infinite water source will fill it with water. It can do various Fluid+Item recipes.

Alcohol

Various ingredients in a barrel of water can make alcohol. Each type has a different effect including ones not available to potions such as Health Boost, Haste and Wither Resistance. Adding additional Fruit to alcohol will turn it into Vinegar, which can be used to curdle Milk into Cheese. Drinking more than 4 bottles of alcohol in a short period will produce increasingly worse effects including death.

Fruit Trees

Fruit Tree Saplings can be obtained from Wandering Traders and Chests in Mineshafts and Dungeons. The leaves will go through growth stages and bear fruit. Once collected by right clicking, the unreachable fruit will rot away and the cycle will restart. The mod that allows walking through leaves helps with harvesting. Each type is slightly different. Banana and Coconut work like Cocoa pods. olives need to be pickled in caustic lye to become edible.

Vegetable Oil

Using a Steam Press, oil can be extracted from Olives, Walnuts, Sunflower Seeds and Seeds. An Oil lamp consumes oil to place invisible genie lights as an alternative to torches.

BioDiesel

By Combining Vegetable Oil, Alcohol and the leftover Ash from Charcoal Pits/Coke Ovens it is possible to produce biodiesel. First distill the alcohol to pure Ethanol then add Ash to make Ethoxide Solution. Than bottle the solution and add to a barrel of Vegetable Oil. This will convert the Oil to BioDiesel and Glycerine byproduct, which can be burned or turned into sugar or slime. The Efficiency depends on the oil type, as the Steam Press is quite inefficient at squeezing oil out of low yield stuff like wheat seeds.

Fuels

Animal Tools

The animal Cage can be used to transport small animals similar to how the bucket can transport fish. The animal bust fit inside so most animals are limited to babies. There are some edge cases such as donkeys refusing to go in.

The Nesting Box will provide a place for chickens to lay their eggs and incubate them. A magma block can also incubate in absence of chickens, but it will not collect in this mode. It will not Hatch Chicks if there is significant overcrowding.

The Feeding Through can automatically breed animals with the food placed inside. It is not 100% successful so it will consume slightly more food. It will stop if powered by redstone or if the area is overcrowded

Miscellaneous

Nether Star Fragments can be used to fully repair any item.

The Wrath Lantern will make EvE kills that happen in the area affected by its light count as PvE kills. Why use boring mob grinders when you can make mobs fight to the death?

Aircraft

A use for your BioDiesel that allows you to explore the world with ease. Its not as maneuverable as an Elytra and is quite fragile so try not to crash. Since it is mostly fuel it can fly for several days. It can also use regular Diesel and Kerosene. Shift-right-click to pick it back up. Warranty void if used in the Nether.
