This mod is far from finished, please consider following to keep up with updates. Please also be advised that this might have crashes, and 100% has bugs, more details in the "Support" segment. The code is starting to get annoying to optimize, restarting might be my best option.
Additionally, please be aware that my computer can only run versions prior to 26.3, or whenever they fully convert to Vulkan, so future updates will be confined to previous versions, namely 26.2.
This project is not done but it is tedious to attempt to figure out how to update and that seems to be more beneficial than Fabric's API on its own, however, it's more complicated to figure out since they swapped from Fabric's decompiled code to Mojang's official code, and nothing's organized the way I'm used to.
Where to start (No spoilers)
Gather these five ingredients and you will have direction. Visit the Obtaining section for a step by step guide. These will give you the recipes to get started.- Copper Ingot
- Heart of the Sea
- Silence Armor Trim
- Nether Star
- Wayfinder Armor Trim
- Tripwire Hook
- Evokers
- Deepslate Bricks.
Support
About the bugs... The axes that I cherish so much are and currently have been unobtainable (I believe.). It's okay since I did another rename thing, but unfortunately, that means I'm going to have to fix them... so... I guess more updates underway. The other thing is for some reason you can take two of the same axe and get one axe back which makes no sense, it's a shapeless recipe which I haven't added and don't see any evidence of, so I'll have to get back to you on that if I figure it out. This project is extremely intensive, and I know you may think "oh well how bad can it be, there's not that many items in it" but honestly, I don't think I could say everything about it that I have on my mind because it's got so many future things planned and I don't know what I'll get around to adding and what I won't before I wind up going the rest of the way insane and wind up in a gutter somewhere.
About the crashes... So, my computer's from 2011, I have an "integrated graphics card" according to the nerds but don't have access to a better computer or card ofc, meaning I'll be stuck in the version right before they integrate Vulkan- And I checked, no, I definitely can't run Vulkan, my "graphics card" is an AMD Radeon HD 7500 Series, which- doesn't have updates for it.
I'm mentioning this because I can't discern if the crashes I'm getting are because I can't render certain things since they changed to OpenGL, or because it's my code itself, or if it's just Mojangs' code and I did something that their code doesn't like, so if I could get feedback from people, it'd be greatly appreciated. I'm certain that the problem isn't in my code because I get the error "DevLaunchInjector failed" or something like that, and it's not completely certain to happen, sometimes I can play for a while before suddenly I get a crash, but... I believe it's due to the graphics card being outdated, but I can't prove it because the crash when I'm in the IDE is different from the crash I get when playing, although I'd say the situation causing both appears to be random.
As you might've guessed or noticed, this mod has taken a lot of work, and just writing this page alone took me the better part of two hours. I'm not even close to done, so of course, as you might've guessed- Following would keep you up to date with the coolest versions!
If things are unbalanced, I'll try my best to work through it and patch things up, but it'd help if I had feedback- I've got a "community" on Reddit that allows users to comment on what they think and whatnot, so maybe I'll hear something there! (r/gh_chiseled)
That being said, enjoy the mod, and consider supporting potentially!
Specifications (Spoilers)
Please note that Ender Axes were heavily reworked in V1.0.0, so previously obtained Axes will need to be recrafted or reobtained.Obtaining some of these items are a much more difficult task than it portrays initially... testing your determination to see if you're truly worthy of these items. I have a crafting tree, but it's very intense and incomplete.
-
Inactive Ender Axe - Added in V1.0.0+, does nothing else besides be a crafting ingredient and function as a normal Diamond Axe. Looks pretty, like a faded Paired Ender Axe.
-
Paired Ender Axe - This axe teleports BOTH the attacker and the victim with a 1/5 chance to occur on any given hit, but it's very difficult to obtain, on par with the Dodgy and Crippling Variants.
-
Crippling Ender Axe - This axe only teleports the victim, with the same chance of teleportation.
-
Dodgy Ender Axe - This axe only teleports the attacker, also with the same chance of teleportation.
-
Omni Ender Axe - This axe is an axe that's fairly unique, as it relies on durability to determine how it functions. Takes all three previous Ender Axes (Except Inactive) as ingredients, making it the most expensive item currently in this mod.
-
Chisel - Also added in V1.0.0+, permits the holder to revert any placed block to its former counterpart- with some exceptions, ranging from slabs to blocks like Amethyst (as of right now, at least.) An example of this would be with Deepslate, you can turn Polished Deepslate into Cobbled Deepslate, and you can turn things like Cobbled Deepslate Stairs into Cobbled Deepslate. Currently doesn't affect wood. Is essential for the unique interaction between it and a placed Sculk Catalyst.
-
Altar - Another thing added in V1.0.0+, permits users to make Exaiphenite from interacting with it while holding Teleportation Extract.
-
R.A.M. - Existed in V0.3.10, and is edible since it was a requested item by a friend- but its value is greater than it would initially appear.
-
Fragments - V1.0.0+, Fragments are items that are found across the world, 6 in The Overworld, 6 in The Nether. Once all 12 are obtained, along with the three main components, creating Ender Axes becomes possible and much simpler.
-
Onceler - Existed in V0.3.10, although it went through a lot of changes since then. Since 0.4.0, no longer pairs with Lodestones, now pairing with a new block known as the TelAnchor.
-
Inverted Oncelers - Added in V1.1.2, an item that selects a player on usage and permits other players to teleport that player to them when used again.
-
TelAnchor - A block which Oncelers can sync to. Since V0.4.1, I believe, it can now load chunks, and as of V1.1.2, it supports cross dimensional travel.
-
TelNegator - A block which can teleport a TelAnchored player back, assuming enough space is cleared out, the player has set a onceler to teleport to, and there's a player nearby. Can only be placed under a TelAnchor.
Obtaining (Spoilers)
-
R.A.M. is obtained by killing Copper Golems for a low drop rate or Wardens for a higher drop rate.
-
Teleporation Extract is obtained by smithing with Wayfinder Armor Trims, (Chorus Fruit, Popped Chorus Fruit, Ender Pearls, or Eyes of Ender), and R.A.M..
-
Obtaining a Copper Ingot unlocks the crafting recipe for a Chisel.
-
Altars are obtained by clicking on a Sculk Catalyst while holding a Chisel. They can be mined with a pickaxe.
-
Exaiphenite is obtained by using Teleportation Extract on an Altar.
-
Exaiphenite Ingots are crafted by smelting Exaiphenite in a furnace for 5 minutes per ingot.
-
Inactive Ender Axes are obtained using the Wayfinder Armor Trim, a Diamond Axe, and an Exaiphenite Ingot.
-
Ender Axes are crafted using their respective template, an Exaiphenite ingot, and an Inactive Ender Axe in a smithing table.
-
The Omni Ender Axe is made using all three Ender Axes via crafting- It's a shapeless recipe, so it could be made in the inventory.
-
Oncelers are made by smithing with Wayfinder Armor Trims, (Chorus Fruit, Popped Chorus Fruit, Ender Pearls, or Eyes of Ender), and Exaiphenite Ingots.
-
Inverted Oncelers are made by smithing with Iron Ingots, (Chorus Fruit, Popped Chorus Fruit, Ender Pearls, or Eyes of Ender), and Oncelers.
-
TelAnchors are made from 4 Exaiphenite Ingots, 4 Oncelers, and a Respawn Anchor. It has a pretty bad texture, I admit.
-
TelNegators are no better texture wise, but they take 5 Echo Shards, a TelAnchor, and 3 Lodestones, so they're much worse on the resources.
-
Frosted Bricks are made from Blue Ice and Deepslate Bricks, although they can be found in Ancient City ice boxes.
-
Frosted Brick components are made from the Frosted Bricks in a crafting table or stonecutter.
-
Once obtained, the templates can be duplicated as though they're any other trim or template, however, they take another Exaiphenite Ingot, and need to be crafted first... a quest which starts with. (Heart of the Sea, Silence Armor Trims, and Nether Stars- Noteably, also the ingredients that give you the recipe itself).
-
Altar Leaves are crafted using Exaiphenite Brick Slabs as you would make slabs and are very lucrative- 1 slab turns into 4 leaves.
-
Exaiphenite Bricks are made using 4 Exaiphenite Ingots.
-
Inactive Ender Totems are dropped by Evokers at a 1/25 rate.
-
Ender Totems can be crafted using an Inactive Ender Totem, an Exaiphenite Ingot, and a Wayfinder Armor Trim.
Upcoming Changes (Spoilers)
- V1.3.0: The next major update. It's going to have multiple new features, blocks, and other spoilery things that I'm very happy with the progress of so far. Unfortunately, I may have dug myself in a little deep here, so it's going to take some time, but I'm aware that the state of the Oncelers and things, are, once again, broken. Things are this way currently because I started transferring a bunch of repeated code to one specific file and referencing that function anywhere I needed it, so it's a bit of a process to get everything functional, but fortunately, I think that part's done. In fact, I believe everything to be mostly done, I've just got some major things to do and solve and then it should be ready to be made public.-Changes to TelAnchors: Oncelers currently don't get consumed if the player gets teleported using a TelNegator. Oncelers currently also share a list with all TelAnchors that have been activated and use any random one rather than the one they were synced to. TelAnchors, Oncelers, and TelNegators don't work cross dimensionally, potentially causing a crash if one's attempted to be used in another dimension. The range which a TelNegator works depends on the players' position, so if a player's in a particular spot, it can spawn the player back- But right now you have to stand basically right on top of it for it to work, I'd like to make that area larger. TelAnchors and TelNegators are using placeholder textures. TelAnchors currently can be found via the chart in the F3 menu, and I want to fix it by making it work like how BlockEntities in the Sculk family work.
-
Changes to Ender Totems: Currently moderately broken, for two reasons- If the player dies while holding it, it doesn't activate the teleportation feature that was intended, and the second reason is that the teleportation isn't currently guaranteed (likely due to the range being too high and chunks the players are attempted to be loaded into aren't getting loaded for the player to land in)
-
Changes to Ender Axes: Not really anything needing changing yet, they just went through a massive overhaul, although I was considering damaging the player when they get teleported so that they could die and their stuff would be scattered in a random spot- But that's not really something I'd do, probably with a small chance of it happening if I did do it.
-
Additions: I want early game items so that the player doesn't get too intimidated by the massive amount of things that are late game and how difficult it all is to obtain. That being said, I don't want to make the late game items easier to obtain, they're meant to be a challenge, since if you really want to use those items on someone, I want you to have to spend enough time to consider if it's really worth it. Moving on, food items could be potentially showing up, although adding things like effects or how much hunger they heal, etc, could be quite difficult to figure out how to balance. Someone suggested Ender Swords, I informed them that Ender Swords and Ender Spears use a different form of combat as opposed to axes, so it's difficult for me to figure out how to target a "victim" if it's hitting multiple different creatures at once. I wouldn't mind making an Ender Spear or an Ender Sword, but it's kinda difficult to figure out how, and of course I'd have to make 5 more items per set (Inactive Ender Spear, Paired Ender Spear, Dodgy Ender Spear, Crippling Ender Spear, Omni Ender Spear, Inactive Ender Sword, Paired Ender Sword, Dodgy Ender Sword, Crippling Ender Sword, and Omni Ender Sword,) plus all the code, textures, models, and whatnot I'd have to add as well- But I would look forward to it if I were to start working on it. Those aren't really early game items, though, so I'll keep thinking. I want to add more blocks like the Frosted Brick set, but I'll come back to that, and I might make it so that the Frosted Brick set also has a unique feature to it. I like the thought of corruption, the thought of a block corrupting any blocks nearby is cool, but it's difficult to figure out, and hard to implement, so that'll stay where it is for now. As for teleportation, there's very little I can do as of right now- Teleport players, teleport blocks, teleport items, teleport any of those things randomly, teleport the player when [condition] or if the player gets hit by a specific mob, idk. Advancements could also be cool... Someone suggested adding bosses, unfortunately, that's much more complicated than just snapping my fingers and having it implemented- I'm looking to see if I could make spawn using a particular condition, so that anything past that point would be, you know- challenging... It seems to have private access, and I'm unsure how to use mixins or listeners, I'd have to think about this all though, honestly.
-
Further concepts: I like the conecpt of adding a special type of stair, known as maybe a Glass Stair block? I mean, I'd want it to be transparent, but I'd also want it to be thin, like the stairs that kinda extrude from the side of things- Like that spiral staircase in Gravity Falls episode into the bunker, maybe- Less wooden with the metal braces themed though, ofc. I may need a new theme, as unfortunately, there's very little I can do with teleportation. I'm considering... well, maybe TOO spoilery for now.
-
Removals / Warnings: If something needs major balancing, I will have to remove it and re-add it. For example, the Ender Axes needed to be rebalanced, so they were removed and readded, making all previous versions of the axes get deleted and all players who previously had any needed to go seek out more components. I will refrain from doing this any further since I'm aware it makes things a lot more tedious for the user, but I'm going to be primarily adding early to mid game items anyway, so things shouldn't be too frustrating for players in the future, as an early or simple crafting recipe change wouldn't dictate the need for an entire recycle. This is only for things that are advanced, like Ender Axes. I like where everything's at obtaining wise right now, so you shouldn't have to worry about another situation like the Ender Axe one anytime soon.
