Credits
Before we begin, I want to credit some people. Thanks to PlazmaZX(plazmazx on discord) for giving every amethyst armour and tool texture!
Combatant is a mod that changes combat by adding new enchants, changing weapons, and adding some new interesting weapons which change your playstyle, instead of adding millions of ores and repetitive, boring weapons with unchanging stats. Please refer to the official wiki for more in-depth info!
New Weapons:
Aethers' Horn:
The Aethers' Horn is a disruptive weapon, meant for getting away or dealing low damage to groups of enemies. The Horn has two attacks, which can be changed by enchants. The first one registers when you hit a block, and causes a small explosion, which launches your enemies away from you, and launches them in the air. The second registers when you hit an entity, and causes the enemy to be pushed towards you.
Amethyst Aspect
The Amethyst Aspect is an alternative to the sword and axe, a heavy-hitting sword meant for dealing with heavier targets. It has 10 attack damage, and is quite slow. It can be upgraded.
The Heartbreaker
The Heartbreaker is the upgraded version of the Amethyst Aspect, dealing 12 attack damage. The Heartbreaker has an additional ability, which deals additional armour-piercing damage if the enemy is freezing. The Heartbreaker can be combined with Frostbite. However, this will apply a 4 second cooldown, using the new cooldown mechanic.
New Armour:
Amethyst Armour
Amethyst armour is a new armour set, which is an alternative to netherite. It offers a protection level between iron and diamond armour, however, in return, it grants you the ability to shoot dragons breath using your armour ability key(K by default). This has a 10 second cooldown.
New Smithing Templates:
Amethyst Upgrade:
There is a new amethyst upgrade template, which can be rarely found in mineshaft chests. It can be combined with diamond tools(only the sword right now) and diamond armour to make a new tool/armour set!
New Enchants:
Frostbite
Frostbite is a new heavy-hitting weapon(axe, amethyst aspect, heartbreaker, etc.) enchant, which freezes enemies as if they are in powdered snow depending on the level. Cannot be combined with Smite or Cleaving.
Cleaving
Cleaving is another new axe enchant, which disables any right-click abilities of your items in your main and off-hand. This applies an effect, and can only be applied if the effect hasn't been yet applied.
Combustion
Combustion is an enchant which gives the on-block-hit attack a bigger radius, but doesn't push enemies back. Generally, use this if you want to learn how to use the weapon, as the radius is really precise, and all of your shots have to be well-timed to be useful in tricky situations.
Flames of Hell
This enchant is an enchant for dealing medium damage in a large area, and for somewhat annoying your enemies at times. It applies a new effect, Haephaestus' Flames, which deals damage based on the level of the effect every 5 ticks(half a heart at level 1, 2 hearts at level 4).
Wind Dash
Wind Dash is probably my favourite enchant so far. It allows you to travel really fast, at the cost of dealing a lot of damage(2 hearts in full protection 4 netherite, but blast protection works better) to the user. If you have to quickly get away, this is your best shot. It allows you to travel by pushing you forward 2 times the amount that the Horn would push your enemies backwards when you hit any block at any distance. This means that if you are careful, you can chain jumps! It also works on your velocity, so jumping up or using potions before the push will increase it's distance.
Crystallization
Crystallization changes the ability of The Heartbreaker to a passive one, making it slow down enemies instead of helping to deal more damage.
New Items:
Coins
Coins are a creative-only item(subject to change), which can be used for maps, quests, etc.
New Blocks:
Refined Slate
Refined Slate is the only group of blocks so far. It's a pale, grey-ish, soft block type, not fit for gradients, but instead for more of japanese-esque builds. They have a cheap recipe, and can be used for the Mystic Table.
Mystic Table
The Mystic Table is a table made using refined slate, netherite scrap and a gold block. This block allows you to craft the new weapons, currently only being one weapon, aka, the Aethers' Horn.
Please note this isn't compatitable with optifine, as far as I understand. I will try to track down the source of the issue before the next update.
