Create: Harpoon Turret
A Create-powered, player-operated harpoon turret. Mount it, aim, and fire a tethered harpoon to reel in mobs, grapple ships and structures, or anchor your vessel in place.
Features
- Kinetics-driven: powered by rotation from below, just like any other Create machine. Rotation winds the launcher, stress-based, like the rest of Create.
- Player-mounted: right-click to sit at the turret. It follows your look direction as you aim, and fires on attack.
- Four harpoon behaviors in one:
- Damage weapon heavy pierce damage on hit.
- Reel in entities hook a mob or player and winch them toward the turret.
- Grapple ships & structures embed the harpoon in blocks or a physics ship and haul the lighter side toward the heavier one.
- Anchor line fire into terrain to hold your vessel taut in place.
- Engineer's Goggles support shows Winding %, Ready to Fire, Line Deployed, or Respooling at a glance.
- Fully config-driven balance damage, rope length, wind-up time, respool time, dislodge resistance, reel speed, and stress impact all live in the server config.
Ship physics integration (optional)
With Sable installed, harpooning a physics ship actually works: the line anchors to the hull and a real, damped spring hauls the ship taut as it strains past the rope length not a rigid tow, an actual rope. Without Sable, nothing breaks the integration is a soft dependency.
