CropStage is a clean look-at info layer for farmers. Point your crosshair at any growing crop and a small readout appears in the top-left of your screen:
- Crop name - Wheat, Carrots, Potatoes or Beetroots
- Stage: X / max - the crop's exact growth stage (0-7 for wheat/carrots/potatoes, 0-3 for beetroots)
- Ripe - harvest now - turns green the moment the crop is fully grown
Why
Vanilla gives you no precise readout of how close a crop is to maturity - you have to eyeball the texture, which is unreliable for beetroots and mixed fields. CropStage tells you the exact stage of the crop you are aiming at, so you know what to harvest and what to leave growing. Unlike a global percentage overlay, it reads only the single crop under your crosshair - no clutter, no guessing which plant the number refers to.
Details
- Pure client-side info HUD - reads the crop's vanilla block state (
ageproperty) only. No mixins, no block entities, no gameplay changes. - Reads the
ageproperty generically by name, so it stays accurate across versions even as mappings change. - Toggle the HUD on/off with K.
- Works on Minecraft 1.21.8 - 1.21.11 (Fabric).
