This mod adds hostile creatures from Darkwood, a game by Acid Wizard Studio. Currently, five main monsters as well as four extra hostile creatures have been modeled, textured, and, uh, digitized. Again. For Minecraft this time.
Do keep in mind that none of the creatures spawn on their own. As of now, it's nothing more than an asset pack for developers, and it will likely continue to be that for the foreseeable future. Every craft and spawn need to be added manually.
It's also a MCreator mod, so do not expect over-the-top quality.
The list of mutant creatures is as follows:
The Red Chomper. An extwined zombie. Fast, ravenous, has a chance to turn into a crippled variant upon being dispatched. Builds up a rage meter over time, occasionally making quick lunges towards the player.
The Human Spider. A conglomerate of fused bodies. Occasionally, it will chuck a piece of itself, which has a chance to form into a clone. Beware: Human Spiders are more dangerous in the dark.
The Centipede. A hijacked body. Centipedes are fast and relentless attackers that will dig into the ground and resurface nearby. Similar to Chompers, they gain a brief speed boost upon reemerging.
The Swamper. A lizardman. Doesn't actually float in water. A tanky monster that will occasionally attempt to catch you in a weakening cloud of miasma.
The Banshee. A birdman. You will know when a Banshee is nearby. Should it succeed in finding you, it will disable all lamp blocks nearby and burst into a swarm of broodlings. Banshees give up their chase and vanish after approximately 30 seconds.
Note: a separate 'Wandering Banshee' entity with disabled event function is available for... purposes. If you need it. That one bursts into babies only when attacked.
The mod also includes a supporting cast of creatures, if you ever need them:
-
The Savages. Come in three variants. The hornless ones are neutral and try to avoid the player until attacked. In addition to being hostile to player, the horned savages are also hostile to wolves.
-
The Giant Wolves. Hostile, mutated wolf variants. There isn't much to them.
-
The Giant Bugs. Fragile arthropods that avoid the player. Occasionally, they will attempt to create a nest node on the ground, which in turn spawns AOE clouds of poison.
-
The Elk. Giant and easily agitated herbivores. They will attack hostiles, wolves, and player.
