Stop letting villagers hijack your builds. Build freely without breaking vanilla mechanics.

The Problem

You spent hours detailing a medieval marketplace with barrels, a cozy tavern with beds, or a working harbor, only for a dozen villagers to immediately claim every single block as a job site or a bed.

The Solution: Choice, Not Compromise

Other mods break game rules globally or alter vanilla code. Decorative Workstations gives you the ultimate freedom: keep full gameplay functionality where you need it, and use inert, perfectly identical copies everywhere else.

The original blocks remain 100% untouched. You choose what works and what stays purely aesthetic.

What's Included

  • A dedicated Creative tab containing every decorative counterpart.
  • Decorative versions of all 16 bed colors.
  • A decorative Bell.
  • All vanilla workstations: Barrel, Blast Furnace, Brewing Stand, Cartography Table, Cauldron, Composter, Fletching Table, Grindstone, Lectern, Loom, Smithing Table, Smoker, Stonecutter.
  • Simple Survival recipes:
    • Vanilla block + Item Frame -> Decorative block
    • Decorative block -> Vanilla block (fully reversible)
  • Inspection Mode: Easily distinguish decorative blocks from functional ones in massive builds.

How It Works

These custom blocks preserve the exact vanilla experience visually while stripping away the headache.

  • They keep: Appearance, Models, Collision, Hitboxes, and Loot tables.
  • They remove: GUIs, Inventories, Villager AI, POI functionality, and Sleeping mechanics.

Inspection Mode & Config

  • Disabled by default. Enable it in the config file.
  • No default keybind. Assign one in Options -> Controls -> Key Binds.
  • Note: Shaders must be disabled for Inspection Mode.

Compatibility & Safety

  • Compatible with existing worlds and standard resource packs.
  • Before Uninstalling: Convert or remove your decorative blocks first, or they will turn into air. Use Inspection Mode to find them easily!

Installation & Support

  • Fabric (Requires Fabric API) & NeoForge supported.
  • Developed as a personal project. The mod will continue to be updated for future Minecraft 26.+ releases, but backports to older Minecraft versions are not planned.
