Features

  • Defense Computer
    • Connects defenses together within a 128 block radius of it.
    • This radius extends up to build height and down to bedrock level.
    • Clicking on it with a named item adds the player of that name to the block's "whitelist".
    • Players on this whitelist will not be attacked, even if spotted by linked defenses.
    • Clicking on the block with a named item with a name starting with "!" removes the player whose name is after the exclamation from the whitelist
    • Clicking the device without a custom named item changes its targeting mode.
  • Camera Box
    • Requires being in the radius of a Defense Computer
    • Sees nearby enemies up to 10 blocks away (not through blocks)
    • If Pehkui is installed, cannot see players 1/8th of their size or below
    • Fails to see in light levels 7 or below
    • Can be fooled by wearing a matching color for what biome you are in
  • IR Camera Box
    • Requires being in the radius of a Defense Computer
    • Sees nearby enemies up to 10 blocks away (not through blocks)
    • If Pehkui is installed, cannot see players 1/8th of their size or below
    • Fails to see players wearing a full set of IR blocking armor.
  • Telescopic Camera Box
    • Requires being in the radius of a Defense Computer
    • Sees nearby enemies up to 20 blocks away (not through blocks)
    • If Pehkui is installed, cannot see players 1/8th of their size or below if they are more than 10 blocks away
    • Fails to see in light levels 7 or below
    • Can be fooled by wearing a matching color for what biome you are in
  • Telescopic IR Camera Box
    • Requires being in the radius of a Defense Computer
    • Sees nearby enemies up to 20 blocks away (not through blocks)
    • If Pehkui is installed, cannot see players 1/8th of their size or below if they are more than 10 blocks away
    • Fails to see players wearing a full set of IR blocking armor.
  • Radar
    • Requires being in the radius of a Defense Computer
    • Sees nearby enemies up to 25 blocks away (even through blocks)
    • Fails to see players wearing a full set of radio jamming armor.
  • Anvil Launcher
    • Requires being in the radius of a Defense Computer
    • Launches anvils through the sky at targets
    • Anvils can be blocked on the way up if enough blocks are present above the launcher.
    • Flings entities on the anvil's way up
  • Turret
    • Requires being in the radius of a Defense Computer
    • When it has a target, a turret pops up from the top of the block.
    • This turret faces the target and shoots at them
    • The turret is retracted down when the target is lost or killed.
  • Marked (status effect)
    • Is applied to entities that are seen
    • Allows defenses to target that entity

FAQ

Will you support Forge?

Short answer: No.
Long answer: I do not plan to add support for MinecraftForge due to its complexity and the presence of similar mods. However, due to this mod's open license, anyone is allowed to create a fork that ports to Forge.

What is the Content Version Number?

Content Version Numbers are a way of knowing what content you will be getting across versions. For example, if the latest mod versions for two different Minecraft versions have the same Content Version Number, you know that you are getting the same content in both.

Can I fork this project?

Yes! All I request is that you do not direct people to the DefenseSystems issue tracker for issues with your fork.

Can I use this mod in my modpack?

You can as long as you do not re-post the mod. This means that placing it in your CurseForge or Modrinth modpacks (even ones you plan to publish) is completely OK, but you can't go and host the JAR on another site.
