Doom Block 1.1 — Optimization Overhaul + First Month Celebration! 🎉
We didn't just add new features — we rebuilt the mod from the inside: easier, faster, more stable. And Doom Block turned exactly 1 month old! In honor of this, there is a small surprise for all players. 💛
⚡ Main Features
A rarity in the world of mods: “clean” and light code
While most mods get heavier with each update, we went the other way. All the general logic (redstone, particles, ticks, GUI) has been moved to BaseDoomBlock, unnecessary classes have been removed, and the Java code has been cleaned.
Result: code from 280 KB → 152 KB, the entire mod from 1.3 MB → 586 KB.
Less lags, less load on the server.
Mini-holiday “First Month! Thank You!”
The first release was a month ago — thanks to everyone who installed, tested, and wrote reviews. This update contains a small surprise in honor of the mod’s first month of life. It’s our way of saying “thank you” to the community.
The siren sound is optimized
The new sound reached 2.2 MB — we lowered the bitrate from 128 to 64 kb/s. There’s no difference by ear, but the weight has dropped to 395 KB. The mod stays high-quality without getting heavier.
Stability and security
- When the block is deleted, items drop out correctly.
- Redstone signal is calculated properly. The mod has become more reliable and safer to use on servers and in big modpacks.
Localization to Russian has been fixed
All names, hints, and messages are displayed correctly — the mod is now more comfortable for Russian-speaking players.
🎨 What’s inside
- 12 colored blocks — each with its own logic, built on a common optimized base.
- Invisible Doom Block — a passable block with separate mechanics, great for maps and puzzles.
- Independent effects — you can combine properties without conflicts.
- New siren sound — clear feedback when the block is activated.
🛠️ Compatibility
- Platform: Minecraft NeoForge 1.21.1 (and ported versions).
- Loader: NeoForge (Forge and Fabric are not supported).
Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
