What is Titanite?
You don't have to know Dark Souls to know what Titanite is. Titanite is simply a strong material made of titanium that can be used to upgrade the damage of weapons sharply. When you upgrade a weapon with titanite it gains a damage boost. Titanite can be used to upgrade items up to a maximum boost of +10 in this mod. Each boost requires a different type of Titanite as indicated by the Titanite itself. (For example, Titanite Shards will upgrade your weapon to +3)
Titanite boosts do stack with enchantments such as Sharpness, which can make this mod a bit overpowered when a weapon is maxed out with titanite boosts and sharpness. It is intended to be used with mods that add bosses with large healthpools or in friendly environments in general where you don't have to worry about someone one shotting you with a maxed Netherite Axe.
This mod adds three types of Titanite:
- Titanite Shard
- Titanite Chunk
- Titanite Slab
Titanite is a progressive upgrade system, meaning you need to exhaust the previous type of Titanite before applying the next. This means that you need to upgrade a weapon to +3 with shards before it can be upgraded to +4 with chunks.
Damage upgrade math
Titanite Shards - 0.5 per upgradeTitanite Chunks - 0.7 per upgrade
Titanite Slab - 4.3 per upgrade
How do I get Titanite?
Titanite cannot be crafted and can be rare, due to the fact that it can make weapons overpowered very quickly. You can normally find Titanite in the following places:
- In Simple Dungeon Chests (the ones with mob spawners in them)
- In Nether Fortress chests
- Dropped by Iron Golems with a rare drop rate
- Dropped by Strays with a rare drop rate
- Dropped by Wither Skeletons with a rare drop rate
- Slabs or Chunks are dropped by majority of boss mobs (bosses with health bars always drop one slab)
Will you port this to xyz version?
Maybe! I have a busy schedule but if you feel like I should port this to a certain version feel free to open an issue with the label of "version request" and put whatever title and description you want that would best describe why you want me to port it to that version.
Can I use this in a modpack?
You don't need my permission and you don't have to credit me, but it would be cool if you did!
