Dynamic Flashlight
Dynamic Flashlight adds an animated, battery-powered flashlight to Minecraft. It produces a smooth client-side beam that visually illuminates nearby blocks, terrain, and entities without placing temporary light blocks in your world.
Features
- Smooth directional flashlight beam
- Projected illumination across floors, walls, ceilings, and uneven terrain
- Animated power switch and battery reload
- Battery charge and automatic power drain
- Configurable range, brightness, beam width, spill, and visual effects
- First-person custom 3D model and textures
- Survival-friendly crafting recipes
- No GeckoLib, shader pack, or external rendering library required
The flashlight is designed as a practical survival tool rather than a simple glowing item. Its focused beam remains the strongest source of illumination, while softer surrounding spill helps nearby terrain remain visible.
Configuration
Lighting and visual settings can be adjusted from the mod configuration screen. Available options include beam range, intensity, angle, surrounding spill, entity highlighting, and performance-related limits.
Controls
- Right-click: Turn the flashlight on or off
- Sneak + right-click: Reload while carrying a battery
- Batteries are consumed when inserted
- No depleted battery item is produced
The tooltip displays the current power state and remaining charge. When the battery reaches zero, the flashlight automatically switches off.
Important Note
The illumination is a client-side visual effect. It makes dark areas easier to see, but it does not create real Minecraft block light.
This means it will not prevent hostile mob spawning, melt snow, affect crops, or change any other gameplay system that depends on actual block-light values.
