Everything Expanded
Everything Expanded is designed to add more functionality to items already in the game as well as make new items, with the purpose of expanding on the game in new ways. It adds new ores, blocks, biomes, mobs, potions, tools, banner patterns, and structures to accomplish this task.
Blocks
Everything Expanded adds several new blocks to the game, some are the ores and blocks of those ores, but there is most prominently a new blockset that is meant to mirror prismarine called ultramarine and a large revamp to red nether bricks that includes an entire new blockset alongside it.
Ultramarine shards are crafted with a prismarine shard and lapis and are crafted into Ultramarine, Ultramarine Bricks, Dark Ultramarine, and the Deep Sea Lantern, along with the respective slabs, stairs, and walls.
Red nether bricks as an item are now what are required to be crafted in order to make red nether bricks, and with this change there are now fence, cracked, and chiseled variations of red nether bricks. More importantly, there is now a green variant of nether bricks called putrid nether bricks, which features a full nether brick block set and putrid nether brick item.
There is also a new crafting station added called the Sorcery Altar, when you take a tool or armor piece to it, add in a new material found underground called Fractite, and add 4 of a specific material in the remaining slots, it is possible to take a maxed out enchantment on that tool or armor and push it a level beyond what is normally possible. The following enchantments can be upgraded by this block:
- Protection: 4 Obsidian and any Armor with Protection 4
- Fire Protection: 4 Magma Cream and any Armor with Fire Protection 4
- Projectile Protection: 4 Shields and any Armor with Projectile Protection 4
- Blast Protection: 4 TNT and any Armor with Blast Protection 4
- Sharpness: 4 Diamond Swords and any Sword, Axe, or Other (Toxin Glaive) with Sharpness 5
- Smite: 4 Rotten Flesh and any Sword, Axe, or Other with Smite 5
- Bane of Arthropods: 4 Spider Eyes and any Sword, Axe, or Other with Bane of Arthropods 5
- Respiration: 4 Pufferfish and any Helmet with Respiration 3
- Depth Strider: 4 Prismarine Shards and any Boots with Depth Strider 3
- Feather Falling: 4 Feathers and any Boots with Feather Falling 4
- Efficiency: 4 Stone (regular stone) and any Pickaxe/Drill with Efficiency 5
- Power: 4 Arrows and any Bow with Power 5
As of now, that is all of the enchantments that are able to be upgraded.
Biomes
Currently, Everything Expanded adds 1 new biome, called Perma Autumn. It is a birch forest bearing orange foliage and leaves and commonly features a new flower, Soreseer.
Potions
Everything Expanded also adds 3 new potions that use vanilla effects that are rarely or not utilized at all.
Potions of Unluck are brewed with Awkward Potions and a new item that occasionally drops from Creepers, called Creeping Clumps, to give the Bad Luck effect. Creeping Clumps can also be obtained from Cleric Villagers at the Journeyman Level.
Potions of Luck are obtained from adding Fermented Spider Eyes to Potions of Unluck, granting the Luck effect.
Potions of Blindness are brewed with Soreseer, a new flower found in Taigas and the new biome, Perma Autumn, and can also be crafted into Black Dye. These potions give the Blindness effect.
Ores/Material Sets/New Weapons
Everything Expanded also adds 3 whole new material sets, which are each crafted into respective tools and armor.
Fathomite is crafted into its raw form with a Nether Brick, Glowstone Dust, Redstone, Lapis Lazuli, and Obsidian, to be smelted into an ingot. When crafted into tools and armor, its stats land between the Diamond and Netherite tiers.
Peridot is found within Blackstone in the Nether or as Fragments (nuggets) in Glistening Blackstone found in the Blackstone Monolith structure to craft its own set of tools and armor, as well as a separate special weapon called the Toxin Glaive. The glaive is special because it has a 1/3 chance of inflicting Poison II on its target, which applies additional chip damage on top of its regular damage. Peridot also has other special properties, aside from its tools and armor having stats in between Iron and Diamond. The Sword and Axe deal an extra slashing attack to Undead mobs and the Armor has speed buffs at half the full set and the full set, being Speed 1 and Speed 2 respectively. Peridot requires Diamond tools to mine. Peridot can also be converted to Crimson Peridot with 4 Glistening Melons and 2 Ghast Tears, which can be combined with the Gold Bracelet to make the Bracelet of Rejuvenation, which grants Regeneration when held in either hand. Crimson Peridot can also craft the Vampire Dagger, a special weapon that does less damage but in return gives a special lifesteal effect.
Aquamarine is found in a new structure exclusively in its block form and can be crafted into tools (including a new one, the Drill) and armor that rival Netherite, with a few distinct differences being that it has more durability, the Armor gives Conduit Power when it is all worn, and it lacks Netherite's signiture knockback resistance. Aquamarine Blocks require Fathomite or stronger to mine, meaning that even Diamond tools are not strong enough to mine it.
Finally, there is Fractite, which spawns in a structure that is a clump of Amethyst and Smooth basalt deep underground and is used to create stronger enchantments in the Sorcery Altar. Fractite Requires specifically an Aquamarine or Netherite Drill to mine it.
Drills
Everything Expanded adds a stronger version of Pickaxe, Drills. Drills are crafted with a Drill motor (obtained by using the recipe given by a special blueprint sold by Toolsmiths), a stick, and 3 of either Netherite or Aquamarine. They are both strong enough to mine Fractite.
Mortar/Foods
Everything Expanded also adds another new type of tool entirely, called the Mortar and Pestle, it is used to crush down items into new ones and has 192 durability for doing so. The Mortar and Pestle is crafted with 3 Stone and a new item, a Stone Shaft. Stone Shafts are crafted with 2 Cobblestone arranged in the same formation as regular sticks, and are used for the Mortar and Pestle, as well as an alternative recipe for Chiseled Stone Bricks and the Drill Motor. The Mortar and Pestle can be used for the following:
- Cracked versions of Stone Bricks, Deepslate Bricks, Deepslate Tiles, Polished Blackstone Bricks, and Nether Bricks and their variations are now also obtainable by crushing them with the Mortar and Pestle
- Applesauce, a new food item that is more nutricious that its materials, is crafted with an Apple and the Mortar and Pestle
- Vegetable Smoothies, another new food item, is crafted with a Glass Bottle, a Carrot, and a Beetroot with the Mortar and Pestle, to create a more nutricious drink.
- 4 Gunpowder, by Crushing a Creeping Clump with the Mortar and Pestle
- Cobblestone can be converted to Gravel, which then can be further crushed to Sand using the Mortar and Pestle.
- String, which can now also be obtained by using the Mortar and Pestle on any Wool.
The Grand Cake is the most powerful food item added in the mod, and its crafting recipe is quite the challenge to put together...
There is also another new food: the Glistening Melon Salad, which does not require the Mortar and Pestle. It is crafted with a bowl, 2 Glistening Melons, and any Leaves to make Glistening Melons finally edible.
Rock Candy is Quartz topped with sugar on a stick, which for some reason makes it edible and nutricious.
Enchantments
Currently, there is 1 new enchantment added in Everything Expanded, called Constitution. It is an armor enchantment exclusively found on Enchanted Books in loot chests that makes an armor piece give an extra heart when worn.
Structures
Finally, there are 5 new structure added in Everything Expanded:
The Stony Fortress spawns in forests and contains Fathomite related loot. It is characterized by the lava moat rigged with arrow dispensers separating the player from the chest.
The Ultramarine Monument is found in oceans and is made out of the new Ultramarine blocks and contains a new mob to defend it as well as vanilla Guardians and Elder Guardians. In the center are 4 Aquamarine Blocks, being the only way to obtain them.
The Fractite Clump is how Fractite spawns deep underground, being the previously stated clump of Amethyst, Smooth Basalt, and Fractite Ore.
The Swampy Gateway is found in the mangrove swamp, it is made out of the new putrid nether bricks and also contains a block of iron as an additional reward.
The Blackstone Monolith contains Glistening Blackstone and can be found in Basalt Deltas.
Mobs
Everything Expanded currently adds 1 new Mob currently, called the Marine Protector, It takes the shape of a Drowned that was corrupted into resembling more of that of a Guardian and are always found wielding Tridents.
Misc.
Bells can now be crafted with 4 Stone Shafts, a Stick, and 2 Gold Ingots.
Gold Bracelets are a special crafting material dropped by Piglin Brutes around 1/5 of the time.
A new music disc for "Ruin." by JohnnyWhatttt has been added to Stony Fortress loot with a 1/8 chance of showing up. (Credit to JohnnyWhatttt)
Finally, there is the Dungeoneer Banner Pattern, which is dropped from Skeletons extremely rarely (1/400 or so) to spice up banners even further.
