FallWarn

FallWarn is a lightweight client-side mod that highlights the block selection outline in red whenever breaking the block you're currently looking at would cause you to fall.

Features

• Red outline warning: The vanilla block selection outline turns red when breaking the targeted block would cause you to fall.
• Real support simulation: FallWarn checks your full player footprint and simulates what happens if the targeted block is removed, rather than simply checking for air underneath you.
• Toggle keybind: Press the ] key to enable or disable the warning at any time. The keybind is fully rebindable from Controls → Key Binds.
• Configurable fall threshold: Choose how much of a drop counts as risky, from any fall at all to only drops that would actually deal fall damage.
• Optional Mod Menu integration: If Mod Menu is installed, FallWarn provides a small configuration screen for adjusting the fall threshold. Mod Menu is not required to use FallWarn.

How It Works

FallWarn doesn't simply check whether there is air below the block you're looking at.

Every tick, the mod scans your player's footprint, determines which blocks are actually supporting you, and simulates what the world would look like if the targeted block were removed.

If removing the targeted block leaves you without any other support and the resulting drop exceeds your configured threshold, the block selection outline turns red.

Lava below you is always treated as risky, regardless of the fall distance.

Requirements

Mod Menu is optional and is only required if you want to use the in-game configuration screen.

Notes

• 100% client-side: FallWarn does not need to be installed on the server. You can use it on servers that don't have the mod installed.
• Configurable threshold: The default fall threshold is set just above the point where fall damage starts, but you can lower it to catch every fall or raise it to only flag more serious drops.
• Optional Mod Menu support: FallWarn works the same with or without Mod Menu installed. The configuration file can also be edited manually if you prefer.
• Modpack friendly: You are welcome to include FallWarn in modpacks.
