Creative Elytra
Ever try to drop out of creative flight to glide, and just... don't? You double-tap jump, nothing happens, you fall like a rock instead of opening your elytra.
That's not lag — it's vanilla's hardcoded 7-tick (0.35s) double-jump window for toggling flight. Miss it and you either stay flying or fall with no elytra, since Minecraft won't let you glide while flying is still active. Creative Elytra makes that window adjustable.
Features
- Fly Window slider — added directly to Options → Controls, right next to Sprint Window (not a separate mod menu). Set how many ticks you get to double-tap jump out of flight before your elytra deploys. Default is a gentler 5 ticks; vanilla is 7.
- Toggle keybind — a keybind under its own Creative Elytra category in Options → Controls → Key Binds lets you flip between your adjusted window and vanilla's stock timing on the fly, with a chat confirmation showing which is active. Unbound by default — bind it yourself.
- Persists like any other vanilla setting, saved straight to
options.txt. - Purely client-side. No server install needed, and it won't get you flagged on servers — it only changes your input timing window, not the flight/glide rules themselves.
Why
Vanilla already ships this exact fix for sprinting (the Sprint Window slider). Elytra's double-jump-to-glide never got the same treatment, and creative-mode players — who are flying far more often than survival players double-tap sprint — feel it a lot more. This mod just extends the same idea to elytra.
