Forever World Portals
Forever World Portals adds player-built portals that take you to a distant ungenerated chunks, which lets you return to the early-game experience without starting a new world. They can also be attuned to take you to a specific biome, which makes it easy to explore new Minecraft content.

Features
- Teleport to distant lands in ungenerated chunks.
- Attune portals to specific biomes by offering items.
- Highly configurable.
- Vanilla-friendly: does not add new blocks and works with Vanilla clients.
- Supports both Fabric and NeoForge.
Usage
- Save up your diamonds
- Build a portal frame with diamond blocks and light it
- Attune the frame for the biome you want to go to
- Drop all of your stuff in a chest (including armor!)
- Walk through the portal and emerge in a new frontier 10,000+ blocks away
- The portal on the other side is broken
- ...but someday you can rebuild it and return to your old home.
Note that this is the default experience; everything described here can be configured.
Detailed Instructions
Building a Portal
Build a normal Nether portal frame, but use diamond blocks instead of obsidian. Light the portal with Flint-and-Steel.
The first time a player enters the portal, Forever World Portals searches for a suitable destination and permanently links the portal to it. Future trips through that portal always return to the same location.

Return Travel
By default, a ruined portal will generate at your destination. In order to get back home, you'll have to rebuild it using diamond blocks.
But you can also change the configuration to generate a fully-functional return portal or no portal whatsoever.
Configuration
The first time the mod runs, it creates a default configuration file in
config/fwportals.properties
You can edit this file to change
- Whether players must have empty inventories to enter the portal
- How return portals are generated
- Biome search behavior
- ...and more
Client-Optional
Forever World Portals works with completely vanilla clients. But if you do have the mod installed on the client (or are playing single-player), you will get some enhanced effects on the portals.
