Fox's Weapons 0.4.0-alpha.1 — Tempest Bow
Adds the Tempest Bow, a deliberately overpowered lightning bow built around extremely fast shots and real vanilla lightning.
ADDED
- Tempest Bow
- Custom 3D model and texture
- Custom GeckoLib draw-and-release animation
- 1000 durability
- 15 enchantability
- 0.25-second full draw time
- +14 bonus arrow damage before armor mitigation
- Real vanilla lightning on projectile impact
- Lightning triggers on entity, block, ground, and wall impacts
- Each Tempest arrow can summon lightning only once
- Survival crafting recipe
TEMPEST BOW BEHAVIOUR
- Reaches a full vanilla bow charge after only 5 ticks / 0.25 seconds
- Tempest damage is added before armor mitigation
- Power and other vanilla damage modifiers can still matter
- Armor still reduces the resulting damage normally
- Uses vanilla bow/arrow firing behaviour
- A Tempest Bow in either hand can mark spawned arrows as Tempest arrows
- Yes, using a normal bow while holding the Tempest Bow in the offhand can still create a Tempest arrow
- This is intentional. It's a feature.
LIGHTNING
- Every marked Tempest arrow summons real vanilla lightning at its exact impact position
- Works on entities
- Works on blocks
- Works on the ground
- Works on walls
- Uses an actual Lightning Bolt entity, so normal vanilla lightning side effects are preserved
REPAIR MATERIALS All four current Fox's Weapons weapons have repair materials:
- Volcano Hammer — Magma Cream
- Blunderbuss — Iron Ingot
- Soul Reaper — Diamond
- Tempest Bow — Copper Ingot
ENCHANTMENT SUPPORT
- Volcano Hammer — intended mace-style enchantment family
- Blunderbuss — durability enchantments such as Unbreaking and Mending
- Soul Reaper — intended melee/spear-style enchantment family
- Tempest Bow — bow enchantments
- All four weapons have 15 enchantability in the current source
CURRENT WEAPONS
- Volcano Hammer
- Blunderbuss
- Soul Reaper
- Tempest Bow
Four weapons down. Eleven to go.
And yes, the Tempest Bow is intentionally ridiculous.
TESTING TIP The dummy is recommended for weapon testing. The Sulfur Cube tried. It was not effective.
Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
