NOTE: The mod is NOT discontinued. However, due to some unexpected hardware issues, updates on GC (And my other Projects) are temporarily on hold. I am aware of the existing bugs, the next update will fix them, add new features, and hopefully bring compatibility with the latest Minecraft versions. Thanks for your patience!

About

Start your Minecraft journey with a single chunk. Gathering Chunks transforms world generation into a experience where you expand your world one chunk at a time, gathering resources and choosing your next foothold as you grow from a lone plot into a sprawling empire.

Why This Fork?

The original Chunk by Chunk by immortius is an excellent mod that deserves to stay alive. With the upstream project appearing discontinued (last update over a year ago), this fork picks up the torch:

  • Keeps the mod updated for current Minecraft versions
  • Currently supports Fabric and NeoForge on Minecraft 1.21.1 (NOT 1.21.11!!)
  • Future support planned for newer versions
  • Forge will not be supported in this fork. For Forge 1.20.1, visit the official mod page

How to Play

  1. Start small. You begin with a single chunk in an otherwise empty world.
  2. Find chests. Special chests are scattered around containing items needed to craft Chunk Spawners.
  3. Expand. Place Chunk Spawners next to empty chunks and activate them to unlock new terrain.
  4. Progress. Use World Cores, Forges, Scanners, and Menders to manage and automate your growing world.

NOTE FOR THE VERSION CHECKING:

Starting from version 2.2.5 (Beta 3.4, Hotfix 2), the mod performs an automatic version check on launch to notify you of available updates.

What is sent: Your current mod version number only. What is not sent: No personal information, IP addresses, game data, or any other identifiable data.

The entire update checking implementation is open source. You can audit it yourself by reviewing UpdateChecker.java in the GitHub repository. The code is straightforward and requires only basic programming knowledge to verify.
