GeyserNetease Extension

What is this?

GeyserNetease is a Geyser extension that allows players from Minecraft NetEase Edition (China's Bedrock Edition) to connect to servers running Geyser.

In simple terms: if you have a Java Edition Minecraft server and use Geyser to allow Bedrock players to join, then after installing this extension, NetEase Edition players can also join your server.

Why do you need it?

Although Minecraft NetEase Edition is also based on Bedrock, it differs from the international Bedrock Edition in several ways:

  • Uses a different network protocol version
  • Has its own authentication system
  • Contains some NetEase‑specific game content

The default Geyser only supports international Bedrock players; NetEase players cannot join. With this extension, your server will simultaneously support:

  • ✅ Java Edition players
  • ✅ International Bedrock players
  • ✅ NetEase Bedrock players (added by this extension)

What you need to know before downloading

Prerequisites

  1. You must already have Geyser installed (this is an extension and cannot be used standalone)
  2. Your Geyser version must support the extension API 2.9.10 or higher

Configuration

After installation, the extension generates a configuration file config.yml with several important options:

1. Only allow NetEase clients (only-netease-clients)

  • false (default): both international and NetEase clients are allowed
  • true: only NetEase clients are allowed; international clients will be rejected

2. Debug mode (debug-mode)

  • false (default): normal operation with minimal logs
  • true: outputs detailed logs – enable this when troubleshooting connection issues

Supported versions

Supports multiple NetEase protocol versions, including v630, v686, v766, v819, and others.

Q: Will installing this affect international players? A: No. Under the default configuration, both international and NetEase players can play normally without interfering with each other.
