Observer

A Fabric mod for Minecraft that randomly spawns spooky fake players behind people because it's funny. An observer occasionally appears a configurable randomized distance behind a random online player. An optional Mod Menu screen is available on the client for configuration. The mod runs on the server and does not require installation on the client for functionality.

Features

  • Periodically picks a random online player and tries to place an observer behind them, in a dark, isolated spot.
  • Observers wear a configurable custom skin and turn to face every nearby viewer individually.
  • Observers are invulnerable, ignored by hostile mob AI, and hidden from the tab list, /team list, and command tab-completion (/tp, /give, etc.) — they look like a real player standing there, nothing more.
  • Despawns automatically after a short interval.
  • All of the above is configurable via Cloth Config, with an in-game screen through Mod Menu (optional).
