And we are back!
Today's the day! 1.4.1, with the Asteroid Belt (for real this time) is ready! Before we get into the technical details, I am retiring the dual 1.21.1/1.21.4 versions, as apparently the very feature that I wanted to use with Astrocraft isn't in the version that Sinytra Connector works on. I am also retiring 1.21.4 because my modding platform now supports the latest version: 1.21.8! So, I will be updating into this version from now on! Now, for the technicalities.
Changes
- Added the Asteroid Belt, as well as its material, Meteorite and its tools, armor (no astronaut helmet this time, I have enough of those), block, and dust
- This one's different - it has variable gravity based on the number of blocks below you
- The Asteroid Belt is End-like - however, the void shouldn't be a problem since you float right over it!
- Fixed Mercury's biome temperature - you can now safely burn to a crisp!
Notes on Fabric compatibility
I have discovered that Sinytra Connector will not be updated until 1.21.9/1.22.0 - whichever is coming next - so sadly, there will be cursed planetary skies until then. Sorry!

Remember, if you want a shoutout in next month's changelog, join the discord server! It's totally free, and you can leave anytime you want if you don't like it. If you have a star next to your name, that means you have contributed to the mod by pointing out an error or suggesting a feature and it's been fixed or implemented - thanks! I appreciate any support I can get, considering the Interstellar: Galaxy team is a small, two-person team.
Hello Again!
First of all, yesterday's update was a joke update. All features have been removed. And, for those paranoid about that happening in real life, don't be. Few Perseids even hit the Earth in the first place, and meteors of that size would be ridiculously alarming. Even a Perseid the size of a grain of rice would be alarmingly large. Today I'm trying something new. As an effort to finally make this mod compatible with Astrocraft and Sinytra Connector, I will be backporting this version to 1.21.1 as well as releasing the 1.21.4 version. This is the 1.21.1 version. Now, on to the boring stuff;
Changes
- Added Mercury, as well as the many other blocks and items that go with it:
- Added Silicate Dust, Silicate Rock, Venusian and Mercurian Sulfur Ore, Sulfur Block, Hermite Ore, and Hermite Block
- Added Sulfur Dust, Hermite, and full Hermite gear
- Added Mercurian Plains
- Methane no longer generates on Mars and Luna, as it is actually entirely inaccurate
- Methane has now been reserved for Titan, Saturn's largest moon
- Aquifers no longer generate on any celestial body
- The null Luna portal igniter is no longer used as the repair item for Lunite Armor. This will be fixed in the other version in the next update as I only discovered it after downloading the 1.21.4 version and having compilation errors in the 1.21.1 version.
Note
I want to clarify that until Sinytra Connector gets updated to 1.21.4, I will be releasing two identical copies of each version in 1.21.1 and 1.21.4. This one is the 1.21.1 copy.

Hello Again!
First off, thank you for 100 downloads! This is the first large milestone in the ongoing development in this mod, and it means a lot to me. Thank you all so much! Also, today marks the first day of the peak of the meteor shower known as the Perseids, with up to 150 meteors per hour in good conditions! The best time to view them is after midnight, so if you can, make plans to view them tonight to see a stunning sight! In honor of this spectacular event, this update is dedicated to the meteor shower. This contains some beta features, so I would advise not playing your cherished worlds with this update. If you want to still play your worlds, either stick with last month's update or wait for tommorow for an actual release. Now, on to the boring stuff:
Changes
- Added Asteroid Belt dimension, which generates similarly to the End, but it isn't as important
- Added Compacted, Double Compacted, Triple Compacted, and Quadruple Compacted Meteor Dust, Meteor Table, Meteorite Ore, and Meteorite Block
- Added Meteor Wand, Meteor Dust, Meteorite Ingot, Full Meteorite Gear, and Meteor Crusher
- Added Meteoric Belt Biome
- Added Perseid, a projectile that randomly falls from the sky every 7 ticks (~150/in-game hour!)
- Added two new gamerules concerning this projectile: perseidMeteorGriefing and perseidExplosionPower, which do exactly what they suggest: respectively, control whether Perseid explosions destroy blocks (default
false
), and control how destructive the explosions are (default4
)

Hello Again!
Hi! I know I just released an update, but I'm behind schedule and need to get this out. I had been doing this one for about a month, but I had only just looked at the versions of Interstellar and realized, "Hey, I never put 1.1.2 on Modrinth and it's been around a month since I was supposed to! Better do that..." So... yeah. I didn't want to release this yet because I thought it would look weird, but... ¯_(ツ)_/¯. Anyway, this one adds Venus! Read more in the description. Now for the boring stuff...
Changes
- Added Venus dimension with various items and blocks
- Added Scorched Basalt, Lava Block, Venite Ore, and Venite Block
- Added Scorched Flint and Steel, Venite, and its various tools and armor:
- Venite Sword, Axe, Pickaxe, Shovel, Hoe, Helmet, Chestplate, Leggings, and Boots
- Added Scorched Land Biome
- Finally fixed the bug where Lunite Ore didn't drop Lunite (now drops 3-6)(IG-00002)
- Smelting Smooth Basalt or Flint and Steel give their Scorched forms
- All Interstellar armor sets now give Water Breathing when the Helmet is worn
- Moved "Martian Explorer" advancement to the "Our Second Home" advancement tab because it was in the "Out Of This World" tab
- Added various Venus-related advancements
1.1.2: Phobos and Deimos Bug Fixes
Sorry! I had originally planned to do Phobos and Deimos here, but after some internal discussions, I have decided to not do that. Instead we have some bug fixes.
Changes
- Edited generation of Martian biomes due to the Oxidized Dunes not generating (IG-00001)
- Various changes to blocks involving tools
- Some technical stuff about author name, description, and mod image in-game
- Added Methane, which replaces Ice on Luna and the strange air rivers on mars
Sorry for the letdown about Phobos and Deimos for those who were looking forward to it. Maybe I'll return to this and add them another time.
Hello Again!
Interstellar is back with another stellar - or should I say interstellar - update! I am happy to introduce Mars! You can read about it in the description. Now for the boring stuff.
Changes
- Added Mars dimension with new blocks, items, biomes, and particles
- Added Compacted Iron Oxide Dust, Iron Oxide, Arite Ore, Arite Block, Dry Ice blocks
- Added Arite Ingot, Arite Dust, Iron Oxide Ingot, Iron Oxide Dust items
- Added Oxidized dunes and Polar Ice Flats biomes
- Added CO2 Particle
- Smelting Iron Ingot or Iron Block creates their oxidized forms
- Edited the description of the "What Did You Think Was Going To Happen?" advancement
- Changed Lunite to a seperate item rather than a portal igniter item related to the Luna dimension
- Added multiple Mars-related advancements
- Added Lunar Explorer advancement
Luna
Luna, more commonly known as the Moon, can be traveled to in these sort of realm crossover biomes, the Lunized Wastes, where moon dust is dropped from the Moon and piles up on the ground.
The Portal
You make a lunar portal like a nether portal, except you use compacted moon dust instead of obsidian.
Suffocation
Watch out! Setting foot on Luna can be deadly without a lunite space suit! Lunite can be found underground in the Lunized Wastes or under Luna itself. Once you have crafted the armor, you are free to traverse the low-grav environment of Luna!
Temperature
Of course, since the Moon has no atmosphere, it has extreme temperature swings! To protect yourself from burning to a crisp or becoming a human icicle, you'll need TempKote®! Slap that stuff on your helmet and you'll have a fully conditioned space-suit! Now you're ready for anything Luna throws at you!
