Itemstash
Itemstash is a lightweight Minecraft Fabric mod that prevents item pickups from being wasted when your inventory is full.
When you walk over an item and your inventory has no free slot or matching stack space, Itemstash automatically stores the item in a virtual stash. The stash is not a physical block and does not need to be placed in the world. You can open it at any time with a configurable keybind.
Features
- Automatically stores item pickups when your inventory is full.
- Adds a virtual per-player stash.
- No physical block or item required.
- Configurable keybind in Minecraft's controls menu.
- Stash menu shows every stored item and its amount.
- Supports taking one stack, filling available inventory space, or dropping all stored items of a type.
- Stash contents are saved across sessions.
- Player-dropped items are ignored at first, then can be picked up by the stash after 15 seconds if they are still on the ground.
How It Works
If your inventory is full and you walk over an item, the item is moved into your Itemstash instead of staying on the ground.
Open the stash with the Open Itemstash keybind. By default, this is set to B, but you can change it in:
Options -> Controls -> Key Binds -> Itemstash
Inside the stash menu, each item has three actions:
-
Take Stack
Moves one stack of the item into your inventory if there is space. -
Fill Inventory
Moves as many of that item as possible into free inventory space. -
Drop All
Drops all stored items of that type into the world in front of the player.
Player-Dropped Items
Items dropped manually by a player are not immediately stored by Itemstash. This prevents accidentally re-stashing items you just dropped.
After 15 seconds on the ground, player-dropped items can be picked up by Itemstash if your inventory is still full.
Persistence
The stash is saved per player and persists across world reloads, game restarts, and server restarts.
Requirements
- Minecraft Java Edition 1.21.10
- Fabric Loader
- Fabric API
Client / Server
For singleplayer, install the mod normally in your mods folder.
For multiplayer, the mod should be installed on both:
- the client, for the keybind and stash screen
- the server, for item pickup handling and stash storage
