What /v trace does
Trace is a personal diagnostic mode for a vanished staff member. After /v trace enable, Just Vanish sends that player a private message such as [Just Vanish trace] Concealed: step sound whenever it blocks a detectable action. Messages are rate-limited to one per second and are not shown to other players or written as public chat. Use it while reproducing a concealment problem, then run /v trace disable when testing is finished.
Vanilla-team visibility is enabled by default. Both players must be on the same team and that team must have seeFriendlyInvisibles enabled, for example: /team modify staff seeFriendlyInvisibles true.
When Simple Voice Chat is installed, Just Vanish enables spectator_interaction and spectator_player_possession in config/voicechat/voicechat-server.properties. A .justvanish.bak backup is created before the first edit; restart the server after a change so voice chat reloads it.
Permission nodes
justvanish.command.usejustvanish.command.othersjustvanish.command.queuejustvanish.command.reloadjustvanish.feature.see
NeoForge's default permission handler falls back to the configured operator levels. Servers may select a compatible external permission handler for granular control.
Integration API
Other server mods can use JustVanishApi to query or change vanish state and listen for PlayerVanishEvent on the NeoForge event bus.
Documentation
Complete installation, commands, permissions, configuration, integrations, and troubleshooting are maintained in the Just Vanish Wiki.
Interaction policies
interactions.preset accepts STRICT, MODERATION, or CUSTOM. Strict mode blocks detectable world interactions. Moderation mode permits combat, pickups, and containers. Custom mode uses the individual attack, pickup, drop, block, container, block-use, and projectile settings.
Use /v interactions to inspect the effective policy, /v list to list online vanished staff, and /v see allowoffline|denyoffline <player> to manage offline trusted viewers. The offline queue is UUID-based and survives restarts and name changes.
Requirements
- Minecraft 1.21.1
- NeoForge 21.1.x
- Java 21
Only install the mod on the server. Do not run Just Vanish alongside another vanish mod.
