#  About Kabus: The Nightmare Mod "Kabus" is an immersive psychological horror mod built around a dynamic Sanity System for Minecraft 1.20.1 (Forge). Darkness is no longer just a lack of light—it is a threat to your mind. As your sanity drains, the world around you will begin to fracture, forcing you to question what is real and what is a hallucination.

Core Features:

• Dynamic Sanity HUD: Track your mental state with a custom hotbar overlay that shakes and turns red as paranoia sets in.
• Environmental Sanity: Staying in pitch-black areas, sprinting, being low on health, or caught in the rain will drain your sanity. Holding a Flashlight or staying near campfires/pets will help restore it.
• The "Kabus" Entity: A terrifying, tall, shadow-like stalker with glowing white eyes. It destroys blocks in its path to reach you, but it plays by psychological rules—approaching faster when your back is turned and vanishing when stared at.

Advanced Horror & Uncertainty Systems:

1. Shadow Figures: Spot distant humanoid silhouettes wearing random skins—or even your own. They vanish when approached or directly observed (<30% Sanity).
2. Inventory Hallucinations: Distorted item counts, swapped textures, or valuable ores looking like stone (visual only, actual items are safe).
3. Mimic Sound System: Hear fake Creeper hisses, footsteps, breaking blocks, or opening doors right behind you.
4. Nightmare Sleep Event: Trying to sleep with critically low sanity might trigger sudden wake-ups, glowing eyes, and terrifying sounds.
5. Uncertainty System: Reaching 0% sanity won't always spawn the monster. Sometimes it’s just blindness, sometimes it's pure silence. You will never know if you are truly safe.
6. Name Whispering: Dynamic spatial audio that literally whispers YOUR Minecraft username in the dark, paired with faint gray [Whisper] chat messages.
7. Reality Distortion: Experience rare, client-side visual anomalies like blood moons, inverted trees, or screen-inverting shader effects (invert.json).
8. Disturbing Notes: Stumble upon extremely rare notes left in the world reading: "don't look behind you", "it knows", or "stop running".
9. Adaptive AI & Psychological Tracking: Kabus tracks your movements and how many times you look behind, changing its hunting patterns based on your behavior.

🛠️ Crafting Recipes

It is highly recommended to use JEI (Just Enough Items) to see all crafting recipes in-game for items like the Flashlight and Calming Syrup.
