Kaiju Strike Designator lets you trigger a huge beam strike in your world. The sky darkens, blocks spiral into the air, and a beam shoots from bedrock to the sky before a three-phase explosion carves out an irradiated crater.
Using the designator
- Craft it with nuclear cores, diamond blocks, netherite, and a dragon head.
- Right-click to aim and place the device.
- Insert a nuclear core, made with a nether star, end crystals, and redstone blocks.
- Shift-right-click to cycle through three timer modes, then activate it and move away.
The strike
Vortex clouds form overhead as blocks are pulled from the ground. The beam uses noise-based visuals and has three color palettes. The blast leaves a bowl-shaped crater with jagged edges and irradiated blocks.
Radiation has its own effect, separate from Wither, with a green tint and damage when you get close. Geiger counter sounds play near irradiated terrain. The mod includes 11 sound events with positional audio reaching roughly 800 blocks.
Configuration
Edit atomicbreathrailgun-common.toml to set the blast radius from 10 to 500 blocks (150 by default) and the countdown from 5 to 300 seconds.
You can also change whether the strike destroys bedrock or requires fuel, set allowed dimensions and protected blocks, and adjust radiation duration and strength. Barriers and command blocks are protected by default.
