Keep That Music
Stop Minecraft from cutting off its music every time you change worlds. Your track keeps playing right through the transition.
What does this mod do?
The music keeps playing:
- When switching dimensions (Nether portal, End portal, etc.)
- When opening the pause menu in singleplayer
- When switching servers or sub-servers in multiplayer
- When returning to the title screen
Only the music is kept — every other sound (blocks, mobs, etc.) still stops normally when you leave a world, just like vanilla.
And you can control the delay between tracks now.
Why I made it
I wanted to listen to Minecraft's music while playing on multiplayer servers, where hopping between worlds or sub servers constantly interrupts the music. Now you can enjoy your favourite Minecraft music or sound packs without interruptions.
Configuration
- Enable / disable the mod (turning it off restores fully vanilla behaviour)
- Max music delay — override the gap between tracks
Configure it in-game through Mod Menu (optional), or edit
config/keepthatmusic.json directly — the file works on every version.
Compatibility
- Client-side only — works on any server, and other players don't need it.
- Fabric, Minecraft 1.16 through 26.1+.
- Mod Menu is an optional dependency, only needed for the in game settings screen.
Pick the file that matches your Minecraft version on the Versions tab.
