In this Lighty release:
- Fixing a bug with immediatelyfast 1.1.25, many thanks to MMuton on Discord for reporting! (apparently uploading empty vertexbuffers isn't really smart, who would have thunk)
If you come across any issues, feel free to open a GitHub Issue or tell me on my Discord.
Have fun! (and check out immediatelyfast, it is a cool mod and should work with Lighty now!)
NOTE: Has logspam, do not use. Use v2.0.8 instead
In this Lighty release:
- Some general refactoring
- Fixing a potential memory leak
If you come across any issues, feel free to open a GitHub Issue or tell me on my Discord.

- Fixed Light Overlay not updating when placing/destroying blocks that don't cause light updates (glass for example)
- Fixed overlay disappearing to early on chunk borders (frustum check)
- Some code refactoring
If you come across any issues, feel free to open a GitHub Issue or tell me on my Discord.
Have fun!
In this Lighty release:
- Fix #27 (Mod Incompatibility with Visual Overhaul)
- Improved performance on low overlay distances (less stuttering while crossing chunk borders)
If you come across any issues, feel free to open a GitHub Issue or tell me on my Discord.
Have fun!
In this Lighty release:
- Update pt_br.json by @Aferallan in https://github.com/SchmarrnDevs/Lighty/pull/26
And that's all for now, have fun and thanks to Aferallan for the PR!
Note: I messed the versions up a little bit, should be fixed now. Sorry for any inconveniences!
In this Lighty Release for 1.20.0:
- Fix #25, which was a memory leak resulting in a crash reported on GitHub and Discord. Many thanks to the reporters and to agnor99 and mara, who were so kind and helped investigating this issue!
- Hopefully fix automatic publishing to modrinth. (If praying to the CI/CD gods doesn't help, maybe offer your soul to the CI/CD demons and hope that they help you 😈)
And that's all for now! If you come across any other issues, feel free to open an Issue on GitHub or tell me on Discord. Have fun exploring your worlds without Lighty crashing your game!

In this Lighty Release:
- Rewrite Carpet Mode to work without weird block registering (agnor99)
- Adding forge support (agnor99)
- Adjusting CI/CD to work with the new setup (andi_makes)
So, I hope that the whole "publishing to modrinth" stuff works, because debugging the release pipeline will be very, very fun.
Thanks again to the awesome work of agnor99!
Note: The publishing to modrinth" stuff doesn't work, as does the GitHub releases stuff. I'll try to fix it
Note 2: I'll add the artifacts manually for now. I scanned the jars with a fractureiser scanner. - Modrinth also does their own scanning.
The time has come, Lighty v2.0.0 for Minecraft 1.20 has been released!
In this version:
- Major internal refactoring
- Because of that, a new look for number mode
- Configurable overlay render distance (Accessible over the config menu, reachable over F7)
There are still some potential performance improvements to be made, but that will have to wait until a later release. Life's still busy, so no time estimate on when those potential performance improvements will be made.
With that said: If you find any bugs in this Lighty release, please report them by either opening an issue or by telling me on my Discord Server.
That's all for now, have fun with all the new 1.20 Minecraft features!
In this Lighty 1.20 alpha:
- Reduced default Light-Overlay-Distance to a 2 chunks radius
- Major performance improvements for small radii:
- (Hopefully) no more microstutters when crossing chunk-borders
- No longer keeping a list of all loaded chunks and their computed meshes
Lots of technical stuff, but simply put: Lighty goes wroooom now.
