MathMaster

MathMaster is a mathematics-powered adventure mod that combines interactive quizzes, intellect progression, axiom abilities, mysterious numerical creatures, and digital corruption.

Mathematics begins as a way to learn and progress, but gradually becomes a system of equipment, abilities, exploration, and risk.

Mathematics Books and Quizzes

MathMaster includes mathematics books for several stages of study. Each book has its own question bank and records the player’s learning progress.

Place a mathematics book inside a Chiseled Bookshelf and interact with an adjacent Bookshelf to begin a multiple-choice quiz. Correct answers grant Intellect experience and useful rewards, while incorrect answers may cause various penalties.

Recently answered and familiar questions appear less frequently, helping reduce repetition. Question banks can also be expanded or replaced through data packs.

Intellect and Insight

Players begin with a randomly assigned IQ and can improve it by answering questions.

The Insight Mirror can be used to study creatures with defined Intellect. The difficulty and length of an insight challenge depend on the target. Successfully completing one records the creature and may unlock advancements.

The mirror can also reveal the player’s own Intellect, experience progress, and Digital Corruption.

Study Notes and Axioms

Completing a mathematics book allows the player to obtain a Study Note associated with that book.

Study Notes can be placed in the Axiom Deduction Table together with different materials to derive mathematical axioms. Axioms belong to several categories, including arithmetic, number theory, logic, geometry, and chaos.

Some axioms provide passive effects, while others act as abilities. Active axioms can be selected from a radial menu and activated with configurable key bindings.

Axiom Cases

Axiom Notes become effective when stored inside an equipped Axiom Case.

Several case tiers are available, offering different capacities for storing axioms. Cases use a dedicated Curios slot, allowing players to build their own collection of mathematical abilities.

Digital Corruption

Digital Corruption is a persistent value affecting players and certain intelligent creatures.

It can increase through encounters with numerical creatures, status effects, potions, and some axiom abilities. Reaching the limit has fatal consequences, while particular actions and abilities can reduce or prevent its growth.

Digital Corruption is intended to connect the mod’s progression, combat, and mysterious numerical themes.

Creatures and Equipment

MathMaster introduces numerical creatures such as 8 and 9, each with custom models, sounds, combat behavior, and interactions with the corruption and axiom systems.

The Lingxu equipment set includes tools and armor connected to Intellect and Flow. Accumulating enough Flow grants Mental Rampage, improving combat power while reducing movement speed.

Additional mathematical materials and animated items, such as the Prime Core, are used by the mod’s developing progression systems.

These integrations are optional and are not bundled with MathMaster.
