WHAT IS THIS MOD ABOUT?
Midgard is a world generation overhaul created by Sbeev designed to create a more natural and cohesive overworld. Biomes are reorganized based on realistic temperature zones and geographical logic, resulting in smoother transitions and more immersive landscapes.
Most forest biomes have been completely redesigned with large, custom tree structures inspired by real-world ecosystems. These trees introduce two new structural blocks, Trunk and Branch, which work alongside standard Minecraft logs to create more organic and varied shapes.
This Unofficial mod port introduces the 13 new biomes, while several vanilla biomes have been condensed, removed, or fully reworked. These changes aim to reduce redundancy and improve biome identity across the world.
Additionally, three new wood types have been added: Pine, Aspen, and Maple, each integrated into both new and existing biomes.
Midgard requires the following mods:
Oh The Trees You'll Find 5.3.0+ Tectonic 3.0.22+
Tectonic provides the base terrain shaping, though this may change in future updates.
WARNING: This mod is currently in beta. Significant changes and additions are expected.
Known Issues:
The advancement "Adventuring Time" does not account for modified or newly added biomes Leaves do not decay properly after wood blocks are removed
Planned Features:
Fixes for the issues listed above Custom tree designs for Cherry, Mangrove, Acacia, and Jungle trees Boats and signs for the three new wood types Vanilla Biomes Removed or Reworked
The following vanilla biomes do not generate:
Old Growth Spruce Taiga Windswept Gravelly Hills Windswept Savanna Old Growth Birch Forest Birch Forest
Some of these may return in future updates, though most have been replaced or made redundant by Midgard’s biome system.
