I am happy to report that our mad scientists have finally discovered a way to remove Minecraft from Minecraft. Instead, this mod allows you to enjoy a completely different Microsoft classic: Minesweeper.
This mod is a total conversion, the first of its kind. No Mojang code is used. Nonetheless, it's capable of loading Minesweeper mods with Fabric-loader, and mixin is fully functional. You can mod this game.
Minesweeper, the game, starts with most of the board covered. There is a known quantity of bombs hidden in the covered areas of the map. Left-clicking on a tile reveals that tile. If there is a bomb at that location, the game is over. If not, the square underneath is revealed, and if there were no adjacent bombs, all neighboring squares are also revealed, and so on. The puzzle of figuring out which squares have bombs and which do not, is enabled by having a number on each revealed tile with the adjacent bomb count.
This version of Minesweeper additionally has a player character that moves around on the board. You can't move through un-revealed squares.
This is indeed an April Fools' Day release, but it is also completely real. I hope you enjoy the game!
