NeoFullbright

Build a personal light kit: client-side Night Vision, Fullbright, and editable modes from cave to midnight.

NeoFullbright is a lightweight, fully client-side lighting mod for Minecraft 26.2 on Fabric. Instead of treating brightness as a single on/off switch, it gives you a small set of clear lighting modes that you can tune to your own playstyle.

No potion effects are added. No world light data is changed. Nothing is sent to the server.

Your light, your way

Use N in-game to cycle through your lighting kit:

OFF → VANILLA → NIGHT VISION → FULLBRIGHT → CUSTOM MODES → OFF

  • OFF — restores Minecraft's normal rendering.
  • VANILLA — a balanced lift for everyday play.
  • NIGHT VISION — applies Minecraft's native night-vision lightmap effect locally, without granting an actual status effect.
  • FULLBRIGHT — maximum neutral visibility for dark places.
  • CUSTOM — your own saved modes, included in the same quick cycle.

Night Vision is enabled by default on a fresh installation.

A clean dashboard, not a wall of toggles

Press I to open NeoFullbright. The dashboard keeps every saved mode visible as a color-coded card. Select a card to use it, or use its edit icon to change it.

Custom modes are added with + NEW and appear in the list immediately after saving. The list supports up to 12 custom modes and automatically adds pages when needed.

Edit built-in and custom modes

Vanilla, Night Vision, Fullbright, and every Custom mode can be tuned individually:

  • Brightness from 0% to 100%
  • Rendering effect: Vanilla, Night Vision, or Fullbright
  • One of 12 accent colors
  • A custom mode name

Choose Save & Use to apply the mode immediately. Custom modes can also be edited or deleted later.

Client-side by design

NeoFullbright modifies Minecraft's client lightmap render state only.

  • No server installation required
  • No block or world-light changes
  • No gameplay status effect for client-side Night Vision
  • Multiplayer friendly on the technical side; always follow the rules of the server you join

Resource packs remain compatible. Shaders that replace Minecraft's entire lightmap may alter or override the effect.

Installation

  1. Install Fabric Loader for Minecraft 26.2.
  2. Install Fabric API.
  3. Put NeoFullbright in your instance's mods folder.
  4. Launch Minecraft and press I to open the dashboard.
