Origins: Necromancer
An origin addon for Origins that adds a fully custom Necromancer origin with a soul-based resource system, minion summoning, and necrotic spellcasting.
Soul System
Whenever any entity dies within 8 blocks of you, its soul is absorbed. Collected souls orbit you visibly as particles and passively restore 0.5 hearts per minute each. At 5 souls the Death Shield becomes available.
Death Shield: When you would otherwise die, all 5 souls are consumed. Nearby enemies are knocked back, damaged, and slowed. You are briefly granted full damage immunity and a speed boost. Afterward, Soul Rift begins.
Soul Rift: A 5-minute penalty state that follows every Death Shield activation. During it you cannot collect souls, cannot summon minions, and take damage from direct sunlight without a helmet. To end it early, stand still with empty hands and right-click to begin a 60-second Soul Mend ritual. If the ritual is interrupted, Soul Rift resets and begins again without the initial effects.
Active Abilities
Necrotic Burst (primary key) Releases a cone of necrotic energy 15 blocks long at a 30-degree spread. Deals 6 magic damage and applies Slowness II and Weakness I for 4 seconds to all targets caught in the cone. Costs 2 souls. Cooldown: 40 seconds.
Circle of Death (secondary key) Projects a necrotic detonation point up to 20 blocks away. After a short windup, it explodes in an 8-block radius for 10 magic damage. Your own minions are immune to the blast. Costs 2 souls. Cooldown: 1 minute.
Risen Dead (passive, right-click) Right-click the ground while holding Rotten Flesh to raise a zombie, or Bone to raise a skeleton. The ritual takes 1.5 seconds and is interrupted if you move. Up to 3 minions can be active at once. Each living minion reduces your maximum health by 2 hearts. Minions last 30 minutes before dispersing. Cannot be used during Soul Rift. Costs 1 soul. Cooldown: 30 seconds.
Passive Traits
Fragile Flesh Your maximum health is reduced by heart as a base penalty, separate from minion costs.
Undead Aura Undead mobs within 16 blocks receive Strength I and will not target you.
Wither Resistance The Wither status effect deals no damage to you.
Ravenous All exhaustion from physical activity is increased by 50%.
Slow Regeneration Natural health regeneration ticks half as often as normal.
Undead Curse Enemies wielding a Smite-enchanted weapon deal 15% increased damage to you per enchantment level. A Smite V sword hits you for 75% more damage than it otherwise would.
Outcast Villagers flee from you on approach and refuse to trade.
