3.1.1+1.20.1
⚠️ Read this before updating
This release is a major technical overhaul and is not backwards compatible.
- Requires the matching Spell Engine release. This version will not run on Spell Engine 0.9.x, and mods built against 0.9.x will not work alongside it.
- Update the whole set together. Spell Engine and every RPG Series mod must be on matching versions. Mixing in an older add-on will break at startup or misbehave in play.
- Spell books must be re-obtained. Spell books from an older world no longer carry valid spell data. Re-craft them, or re-bind their spells at the Spell Binding Table.
Back up your world before updating.
- Ported to Minecraft 1.20.1 (Fabric + Forge 47)
What's new since 1.4.0
Everything below was released between 1.4.0 and 3.1.1 on newer Minecraft versions only.
New spells
- Paladin and Priest spell books now offer 6 spells each: two choices across three tiers
- New Paladin spells: Seal of Righteousness, Immolation, Blessed Strikes
- New Priest spells: Levitate, Penance, Lightwell
- Holy Shock is granted by all Holy Staff variants; Flash Heal is a spell book choice

New items & equipment
- Aether dungeon loot: Holy Claymore, Valkyrie Great Hammer, Silver Staff of the Valkyrie, Sun's Mace and the Valkyrie Bulwark shield

- All recipes in the vanilla recipe book; smelting recipes disassemble paladin and priest weapons and armor

- New advancements for spell casting, spell binding and monk trading
- Monk sanctuaries gained a snowy village variant, and also generate through Lithostitched and Repurposed Structures
Gameplay & balance
- Holy spells always critically strike undead; Judgement deals +50% damage to them and no longer stuns bosses
- Healing spells no longer work on Iron Golems
- Divine Protection scales with Healing Power
- Offensive paladin spells and priest healing output rebalanced
- Reworked visuals for Judgement, Blessed Strikes, Circle of Healing, Holy Light and the Battle Banner
- Fully translated into 20 languages
Optional dependencies
Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
