HUGE UPDATE: Parry Styles 2.0.0
After a long while, here is one of the best updates I’ve ever made
Changes and new styles:
- It continues to have support for the entire current 26.X branch (26.1 - 26.3)
- Replaced the PAL animation library with the mod's own built-in player animation system: identical animations, one less external dependency, and full compatibility with future Minecraft versions
- Added a new style: "Real DMC" Royal Gauge and Royal Release in this Style
- Added a new style: "Elemental"
How Real DMC works:
The Devil May Cry style. Royal Blocks fill the Royal Gauge (max 100). Press the Release key the moment a hit lands for a ROYAL: the entire gauge is spent on a devastating counterattack. Mistime it and you get a GUARD instead: half the gauge, a weaker counter, and 2 HP of recoil. Revenge arms your gauntlet so the next hit you take is fully countered Every successful Parry builds your Style Rank: Dismal, Crazy, Badass, Apocalyptic, Savage, Sick Skills and Smokin' Sexy Style. The meter decays over time, so keep the rhythm going
How Elemental works:
A medium-rhythm style (0,3s window, 0,1s perfect). A successful Parry cancels the hit and, if the attack carried an element (fire, lightning, poison, wither, ice or magic), it is captured: your next hit unleashes it. A perfect Parry holds the element 50% longer. Against other players only a perfect Parry steals the element (and their charge is spent even when parried). Failing does not stun, only a short cooldown
Also fixed:
- First-person arm animation now respect your FOV setting
Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
