Changes
0.8.1 - Friends and treats (2026-10-04)
Treats for playing
- Playing earns treats now: advancements, new biomes, rare finds and survived nights, up to 25 a day. When some arrive, a short chat note (at most three lines) says what for, and the treat balance at the top of the menu updates.
Friends see each other's pets on more servers
- Friends see each other's pets on more servers: the same server reached by IP
or by domain (or
mc.,play., or an SRV record) now counts as one server, and Open to LAN worlds work too, for the host and for friends who join from the LAN list. (A server whose domain points at several addresses, or a LAN world joined over a VPN or tunnel, may still keep friends apart.) - Fixed a mix-up where players on unrelated servers could be grouped together when the server address could not be read.
- If you have a pet but are not signed in to Petlings, a single chat line (once per game session) explains that signing in lets friends with the mod see it.
- Update together: this version groups players in a new way, so friends on an older version and friends on this one won't see each other's pets until everyone has updated.
Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
