Introduction

PMWU-AO (Atmospheric Overhaul) completely overhauls the atmosphere storms spawn in, and how they behave.

Weather Soundings

Using 222 real-life events taken across the United States of America, we can pull atmospheric data from each of these events and interject them into a usable Skew-T/Hodograph system within PMW, completely restructuring the Sounding Viewer, Balloon Platform & Weather Balloon blocks/items! All hours of the day have soundings correlated to their "original" sounding ( one of the 222) So in total, there's over 4,000 soundings! To switch between Skew-T & Hodograph on the PMW sounding viewer, you simply right-click the interface!

Outlooks

Convective outlooks have been redone to introduce a 7-day system. Each season has percentage based odds at categorical probabilities in outlooks (i.e: Spring has a 30% chance at D1 to upgrade any categorical risk, and Winter has a 5% chance at D1 to upgrade any categorical risk.)

Storm Mechanic Changes

Storms now spawn in specific times of the days, using their original soundings as an anchor for the spawn window, which lasts 2 hours before original sounding and 1 hour after original sounding, meaning if your original sounding is at 4pm, storms can spawn from 2pm through 5pm.

Additionally, skies will generally be clear prior to spawn window being open, and a cumulus field (CU) will gradually build in leading up until the spawn window being open. Supercells will also now develop without precipitation underneath, and not precipitate until they reach stage 1.

Tornado Behavior Changes

Tornadoes now last longer than traditional PMW tornadoes, and they also have cyclic behavior. What does this mean? Tornadoes that dissipate have the chance to re-form, or "cycle" from it's parent storm a few minutes later. You can also edit what block-strengths each block has through a simple command!

Storm Behavior Changes

Storms can now be one of 6 classification types, "LP1", "LP2", "Classic1", "Classic2", "HP1", & "HP2". LP1 will have the least precipitation underneath the base/mesocyclone, while HP2 will be a completely rain-wrapped tornado. These classification types are directly correlated to the sounding that's generated for that hour (Storms can morph from High Precip to Low Precip!)

Extended Time

Users have the option to enabled extended time, which extends day/night cycles x6 the regular vanilla length. Sunrise/Sunsets will also correlate to the season. View the image below for information regarding sunrise/sunset times throughout the seasons.

Extra

This mod is apart of the PMWU modline, which was created to add multiple addon mods to ProtoManly's Weather. All PMWU mods are compatible with each other, but they have not been tested for compatability with other PMW sidemods.

This mod has been vigorously tested, but bugs may still appear. If you encounter a bug, please submit it to the PMWU Support Discord server in a ticket.
