About
Create: Power Grid is a mod that adds physics-based electricity simulation to the Create mod.
Everything is designed to encourage creativity while introducing new challenges and obstacles. In the end you will be the proud owner of a world-wide power grid - one that hopefully doesn't collapse after you flip that one unmarked switch…
Balance is key
In this mod you have to balance your production and demand to keep the voltage steady. If you don't, you risk damaging your equipment and things surrounding it.
Not like the other mods
Electricity in this mod is simulated using Network Analysis and real laws of physics. Circuits have to form loops for current to flow. Higher voltage allows you to move more power with less losses. You will have to put thought into the design of your energy grid.
This mod adds ways to generate electricity as well as ways to consume it:
- Basin Heater: An electric blaze burner.
- Heating Coil: A catalyst for faster bulk smoking and blasting.
- Light Bulb: Turns electricity into light.
- Growth Lamp: Turns electricity into light and speeds up crop growth.
- Electromagnet: Enables item magnetization, a new processing recipe.
- Alarm Bell: Turns electricity into sound.
- Electric Motor: Enables conversion of electricity back into SU.
- Servo: A motor whose position can be precisely controlled by a voltage signal.
- Electric Fan: An electric alternative to the Encased Fan.
- FE compatibility: You can also use it to power any device from other mods that support the Forge Energy interface.
The mod also gives you the ability to create completely custom and functional circuit boards. You have to layout your components (resistors, capacitors, vacuum tubes and more...), route them, and then go through the process of etching a board and populating it.
The in-game Ponders will guide you on how to use the mechanics in this mod.
This mod is designed to be highly configurable. You can change properties of devices, as well as core behaviors of the mod (e.g. overheat behavior).
