Minecraft has four types of Protection enchantments (excluding Feather Falling). However, most just use the the default Protection. Why is this? Well, because there's just simply no reason to use the others in about 99% of situations. Sure, they may protect slightly more against that type of damage, but you are then left vulnerable to all other types, whereas the base Protection reduces almost all possible damage by a great amount. And since all the enchantmetns are incompatible, most just go for the default.
I decided to fix this issue. With this mod, the enchantments now have a new effect. If all four armor pieces are enchanted with level 4 or higher of one of the three underused Protection enchantments, you become completely immune to that type of damage. Yes, I am serious. However, your armor still takes durability damage. The effects of each armor vary, so let me explain each one in detail.
Projectile Protection will make arrows and tridents bounce off of you. You also become immune to things like snowballs and llama spit. However, you are still vulnerable to Blaze fireballs and the like.
Fire Protection protects you against all fire related damage, including Lava, Campfires, and Magma. Standing in fire doesn't take away durability, but all other sources are very quick to do damage to your armor, so don't stay in them for too long. Also, Blazes still do Melee Damage, despite their fireballs having less effect.
Blast Protection not only removes damage from explosions, but knockback as well. It also now protects against Fireworks, Sonic Booms from the Warden, Wind Charges, and Wither Skulls (Wither Skulls will do massive damage to the armor for balance purposes).
That's pretty much the mod! If you have any suggestions, questions, or concerns, message me on Discord (s_lonnie is my username) and I'll try to get back to you as soon as possible. Thanks for taking the time to try my first mod!
