Ransom In Minecraft
Ransom In Minecraft brings Ransom (A-90) from DOORS into your Minecraft world, recreating his original encounter and expanding it with my own mechanics and encounters.
This is an unofficial fan project and is not affiliated with or endorsed by LSPLASH. Ransom, DOORS, and the original Ransom assets belong to LSPLASH.
Content warning
This mod contains jumpscares, sudden loud sounds, screen shake, flashing effects, and loss of character control.
Mod contents
Ransomware
When Ransom appears, stop moving and wait for the STOP sign to pass. Moving the mouse or pressing a forbidden key triggers his attack.
Your hotbar becomes encrypted, and you must collect coins from infected blocks to pay off your debt before time runs out. Hold right-click on an infected block or break it to collect coins. Stay inside the encounter area: trying to escape increases your debt and creates a new infected area.
Failing can cost you the items in your hotbar. The item-loss penalty can be changed in the config.
Underground Ransom
At Y ≤ 62 in the Overworld, Ransomware is replaced by a different encounter. Moonlight is stronger underground and can help you without a Crucifix.
Ransom becomes a cloud of glitches that rushes toward you. Hit him to knock him away, then watch for his next approach: he can change direction or teleport. The attacked player can see and hit him through walls.
Survive eight attacks. Every attack counts, whether you parry it or get caught. A failed parry costs health, adds Hijack, and steals one entire item stack, prioritizing your hotbar before the rest of your inventory.
Ransom: Stealer
Unopened loot chests can be corrupted. Opening one starts a timed keyboard challenge: enter the displayed sequences to save the loot. Mistakes and missed deadlines can cost you items.
Stealer has Easy, Normal, and Hard difficulty settings.
Hijack
Some zombies, drowned, and creepers can spawn Hijacked. These encounters can increase your Hijack level, bringing screen interference and increasingly disruptive effects.
At level 5, you lose direct control of your character. Your body can move, use items, and attack other players and passive mobs while you fight to take it back.
Keep your marker inside the moving area and time your clicks with the shrinking ring to regain control. Once your recovery progress reaches 30%, you can open your inventory and use a Honey Pot if you brought one.
Crucifix
Keep a Crucifix in your inventory to banish Ransom when he attacks. It also lets you cleanse corrupted chests and banish Hijacked mobs by hitting them with it.
The Crucifix has 100 durability. Its crafting recipe appears in the recipe book after your first encounter with Ransom or Stealer.

Honey Pot
Use a Honey Pot to clear your Hijack buildup and gain 10 minutes of Firewall protection against Hijack. It can also help you escape full capture once you unlock your inventory during the resistance minigame.
Craft it with a decorated pot and a honey block. Both plain pots and pots with patterns work.

Config
The config lets you adjust encounter frequency, the Ransomware area and infection range, item-loss penalties, Stealer difficulty and chest corruption chance, Hijacked mob spawn chances, and player Hijack settings. Features have separate controls, so you can tailor the mod to your world.
On Forge and NeoForge, open Mods → Ransom In Minecraft → Config. On Fabric, use Mod Menu to access the config screen, or edit the config files.
AI usage
Since I do not know how to program in Java, I used AI to write the code, and only the code. I tested and corrected the mod, designed some of its mechanics, and adjusted its gameplay.
