RavenbrooksCraft is a 'Hello Neighbor' mod for Minecraft that captures the early art style from the early prototype to early Alpha 2 (Alpha 1.5).
The mod itself can be considered a furniture, building, and securitymod for Adventure Mode (or survival with mining fatigue X), AKA roleplay. Build maps and minigames to create your own Ravenbrooks environment.
QUICK CREDITS: I'd like to thank everyone from both Hello Neighbor (and special Hello Neighbor Reborn fangame) and Mcreator communities for helping with assets, feedback, and general coding! I'd like to also mention that the roof block design comes from Hearth&Home Mod by Starfish_Studios! I'd recommend to play my mod with theirs for extra home-like decorations for your Ravenbrooks Town. Big thanks to porta1_master09 for helping me with the new and updated promo screenshots.
FINAL UPDATE (part 2) TO-DO LIST:
- Player & Neighbor car models & functions (open/close, locked trunk, and beeping)
- Neighbor's car keys
- Ravenbrook's wand
- Wireless redstone (Using Ravenbrook's wand, connect e.g Yellow Lever to a block that emits redstone power if the construct block is "on", mainly for command block sequences without the need for /execute if block to detect the lever)
- Add locks that function like levers (giving the blocvk behind them redstone power, it would be better than the block variants)
- Eletricity > Add Powerbox (that will give the house power) > Add ceiling lamps (and all of its function, including a bulb and switch) > Edit every "electronic" block/object to also depend on electricity being "on" (maybe via NBT?) > Using said want, connect powerbox directly to the objects (or switches that then are connected to the electricity dependent blocks)
- Attempt to give most objects their unique sound
- Attempt to make doors blockable using chairs/armchairs/heavy objects
- Add every object/construct I may have forgotten or neglected (like Sharkotron and A1 troley/train), extras or unused/unreleased stuff do not count (that's for a extra update after this one)
- Fix any bugs created by minecraft's engine by working around it (may not be possible)
- Add boiler animation
- Add looping sounds to fridge, boiler, etc (like campfire, fire, furnace, etc)
- Revisit some objects/blocks that need a custom rework or retexture
- Look for more optimization
If you're willing to help, send me a DM here on curseforge, I should reply in less than 24h! (this also applies to anyone with questions or reports, I'm always happy to chat).
GAME MECHANICS:
- Use right-click to interact or pick up objects (objects with actions need shift held down to pick up).
- Man-traps (bear-traps) and vases give glowing effect when the player is punished.
- Cupboards turn the player invisible when hiding inside.
- Hammers and crowbars can remove any boarding planks with right click.
- Keys can unlock/re-lock their respective locks using right click.
- Shovels can dig grave dirt using right click.
- Jackhammer can break fault bricks using right click.
- Tomatoes thrown at players give them blindness.
- Glues thrown at players give them slowness.
- Rocks can break windows.
- Window Glass Block can repair broken windows with right click.
- Lockpicks have a 40% chance to open locks & 100% chance on Neutral Locks, one time use.
- Fireworks blind players in its punishing range
OTHER QUIRKS:
- Most if not all blocks have their own custom sounds (e.g. Raven Grass has the 22-ish grass footsteps from the original game).
- Television (and its broken alt in extras) has all TV sounds and few custom sounds (strictly from the franchise).
- Radio (and its broken alt in extras) has all radio sounds and few custom sounds (strictly from the franchise).
- Box stacking is a thing again, but better! Also makes you jump a bit higher.
- Chase music key binds (head to controls, key binds). They're Mr. Peterson's chases ONLY!! (lore-wise included). This means secret neighbor's chase wasn't included for being (technically) The Thing's chase music.
- Neighbor soundboard from hn1 and hn2 key binds. Its exactly how it sounds like.
- Most wooden floors have chances of playing a random creaking noise or a random_inside sound effect from the prototype.
- Objects are held like in the games
- Ride-able chairs, armchairs, and sofas
KNOW ISSUES (HELP WANTED!):
This is my first mod! I had an amazing help from both Mcreator's community and Hello Neighbor community, but still there is some issues that I can't fix them myself:
Yellow levers, generators and eye paintings lack actual wireless redstone, so map makers are limited to using command blocks and /execute if block. As the player throws a projectile, they slow down for some reason. Because of how minecraft renders things (according to someone on blockbench server) you may see void spots when too close to a window (they're 1 block with the size from 1x1 to 3x2). Because of Mcreator limitations as well as Minecraft´s, jumping over a man-trap is NOT an option due to its detection being 16x16 (full block) instead of its model height.
If you're willing to contact me and help me, let me know! (I think curseforge has private dms or something like that. "C'mon, give me some sugar, I am your neighbor!").
