Details
RealTemp is a NeoForge 1.21.1 client-side survival mod created by MrMouse that adds a realistic environmental temperature system to Minecraft. It calculates a “felt temperature” in °C every tick based on biome climate, altitude (6.5°C drop per 1000 blocks), weather (rain/snow), time of day, sunlight, water immersion, cave shelter, and armor insulation.
The mod turns temperature into a survival mechanic. Cold exposure gradually builds below ~10°C, becoming dangerous near freezing and below, potentially causing hypothermia effects like slowness, hunger drain, and damage. Heat exposure begins around ~30°C, becomes severe above ~35°C, and can lead to heatstroke-like effects under prolonged conditions, including fatigue and damage.
RealTemp is fully client-side and designed for immersive survival gameplay in varied terrain such as mountains, deserts, oceans, and caves. It updates every tick for real-time responsiveness.
The mod is configurable through the in-game Mods Config Menu, allowing adjustment of temperature scaling, thresholds, environmental effects, and survival difficulty.
